Congratulations to Poppy Award honoree, Lori Minaglia, procedural scheduler in our surgery department!

The Poppy Award celebrates the compassionate care and exceptional dedication of our non-nursing caregivers and volunteers.

Lori is committed to delivering exceptional holistic care, going beyond the call of duty to protect both patients and their loved ones. When preparing for a patient’s overnight admission in our perioperative care unit, she discovered the patient's cat was left in a hot car. Lori quickly took action, partnering with the Healdsburg Humane Society to safely board the cat until its owner could be released.

Thank you, Lori, for making a difference!

Recently the Physical Therapy, Wound Care and Mammography departments at Healdsburg Hospital teamed up with the Healdsburg Fire Department to conduct a fire drill focused on patient evacuation procedures. This exercise was crucial to continue evaluating and maintaining our high standards of emergency preparedness, helping protect both caregivers and patients.

Caregivers' children volunteered to act as patients to help simulate evacuation scenarios involving equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, Hoyer lifts and hyperbaric gurneys.

The collaborative efforts of our caregiver team and the Healdsburg Fire Department led to a seamless and successful drill. Kudos to everyone who participated and contributed to this valuable exercise!
