David Bert Vanadore

David’s life reflected Christ’s words in Matthew chapter 6.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth […] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven […] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

David was not concerned with material possessions but instead was most proud of his family, especially his 14 grandchildren who will always adore him.

David was born to Joe and Kathy Vanadore in Hearne, TX. He graduated as salutatorian of Bryan High School in 1975. His fondest childhood memories were of camping and fishing with his family and spending time with his grandfather.

He met his wife, Denise, on December 23, 1978, and they were married on September 2, 1984, at All Faiths Chapel in College Station, TX. He and Denise often marveled at the work of God’s hand in their lives. His mercies were constant and exemplified in the legacy he left behind.

David was pure-hearted, patient, perpetually late—but always present. As his wife lovingly says, “He was a mess, but he was our mess.” His kindness and patience were evident to most anyone he met. Whether you were an old friend, or a stranger simply trying to find the right bolt or screw in Ace Hardware.

David worked in the construction industry for 40 years and owned his own home remodeling and cabinetry business for 10 of those years. He prided himself in doing things the right way, no matter how long it took. Though he was a hard worker, he lived for his family. He loved sitting on the porch with his wife Denise—playing cards and reflecting on their many blessings. When he wasn’t tinkering in his shop, you could find him alongside his children—remodeling their homes or fixing a broken appliance. Nothing brought him more joy than serving his family. In his free time, David delighted in fishing with his sons, sons-in-law, and grandkids—even chuckling when a grandchild accidentally hooked a lure into his head. He also enjoyed the special time he spent fishing with his brother, Dale.

His memory will be cherished most by his wife of 41 years, Denise; his four children: Haley Williams (Craig), Lacey Howeth (Dale), Brandt Vanadore (Emily), and Landon Vanadore (Ella); and his 14 grandchildren: Eli, Kinsley, Waylon, Sawyer, Laynee, Wyatt, Rhett, Easton, Parker, Evelynn, Tucker, Sadie, Asa, and Elliott.

He also leaves behind his brother Dale (Tracy) Vanadore.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you offer prayers of thanksgiving for David’s life and his family as they grieve his loss.

A celebration of life will be held on, Friday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. Faith Bible Church 1282 FM 2776 Bryan, TX 77808

God's Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place,

He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful; He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.

So, he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone,

For part of us went with you the day God called you home

Sue Nell Gandy

Sue Nell Gandy went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose love and faith blessed all who knew her.

Sue Nell was born in Seale, Texas to Alton Wallace and Betty Wallace. She married her true love, Henry Gandy in 1958. Their love for each other was immeasurable.

Throughout her life she was known for her devotion and unconditional love for her family and friends and love for the Lord and her church. She touched countless lives with kindness, faith, and love.

Sue dedicated her life to raising her children with love and faith. Her home was a place where family and friends gathered for good food and fellowship. Her grandchildren have fond memories of spending summers at Nanny and Papa's house.

She was the fun Mom who went with the kids to church camp. She was the Girl Scout Leader and the Boy scout leader. Her living room would be filled with cases of girl scout cookies to sell. She was the mom that spent quality time with her children. Hosting slumber parties, taking us to throw water balloons on Halloween, toilet paper houses, and an occasional Chinese fire drill at a red light. Good times that will never be forgotten.

She joined the workforce when one of her grandsons went to school. He would cry because he did not want to go to school. He wanted to stay with Nanny. Sue was at the school checking on him so much that the school offered her a job. She became a substitute teacher at Hearne ISD.

Deborah Ann Green Fatheree

Deborah Ann Green Fatheree, beloved wife, sister, aunt, friend, and tireless animal advocate, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on March 30, 1954, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Calvin S. Green and Dorothy Buckley Green.

On August 13, 1981, Deb married the love of her life, Larry J. Fatheree, in Harris County, Texas, and together they built a life grounded in love, laughter, fighting for their clients at Larry's law firm, and pampering their pets.

Deb is survived by her husband Larry, her brother, Darrell C. Green (Heather) of Virginia Beach, VA; her nephews Jacob Strange (Kaitlin) of Norfolk, VA, Matthew Green (Jennifer) of Chesapeake, VA, and Stuart Green of Norfolk, VA; her nieces Katie Russell (Trey) of Virginia Beach, VA, Amanda Koenning (William) of San Antonio, TX, and Ashley Shealey (Ronnie) of Virginia Beach, VA. She also leaves behind five grandnephews and two grandnieces, and countless friends and animals who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Green Shealey, and her parents.

A woman of fierce spirit and unmatched compassion, Deb became a warrior for the voiceless. Through her rescue work, she saved over 4,000 pets, each one a life spared and a family blessed. Her passion for animals changed not only their lives but also the lives of countless people who welcomed them into their homes. Known for her honesty, tenacity, and refusal to shy away from the truth, Deb embodied courage. She was unafraid to ruffle feathers much like the beautiful birds she cherished, Tarzan and Coo-coo, if it meant protecting an animal in need.

Her impact stretched far beyond Robertson County, where she became a cornerstone of the rescue community. She was a mentor and a steady hand in times of heartbreak. She stood with countless pet owners through the loss of beloved pets, guided them in fostering and adoption, and inspired them to join in her mission of rescue.

Even in her final year, after being diagnosed with health issues she chose to keep private, Deb faced life as she always had—on her own terms, fiercely, unapologetically, and with love.

Deb will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to animals, her strength of spirit, her candor, and her friendship.

Her legacy lives on in every wet nose, wagging tail, and grateful family touched by her work. The world and all who knew her are better because she was here.

In lieu of flowers and keeping with Deb’s wishes, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Urgent Animals of Hearne at Robertson County Veterinary Services (979-279-9201), so her passion for caring for animals may continue.

Henry E. Youngblood

The man. The myth. The legend. No truer words have defined a person. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, 95 years ago, Henry Youngblood was fiercely protective of his family and those he loved, including his precious wife of over 50 years, Ruby, and his beloved girls, Quinda and Dowana.

His quick wit was unmatched by anyone in his sphere, and he was one of the few who could call you an endearing nickname while wrapping you up with love from his wry grin. Until the very end, he could verbally whip back a one-liner that would be the best thing you heard all day.

He was a master mason and supervisor with a reputation for perfection and exacting square lines. Through buildings across the southern U.S., his legacy lives on in the work he produced. His passion was hunting, though. For 68 years, he traveled with the guys to Colorado, seeking the elusive and telling stories that took on a life of their own. Those stories will continue to be cemented in the lore that was Henry Youngblood, for generations to come by the many lives he touched in the Wheelock community, the Wheelock Cemetery Association, and a cup that runneth over with countless friends.

He was met in his heavenly home with an exuberant celebration that included his life’s love, Ruby, his grandson, Bradley, his son-in-law Ralph, his parents Maude and Luther, his cherished brother, L.B., and numerous friends who have patiently awaited his arrival.

Those left to share the legend include his daughters, Quinda Bennett (Ralph) and Dowana Bates (Mike), and grandchildren: Brian Bennett (Casey), great-granddaughter Emily; Brandi Bennett (Danny), great-granddaughter Bailee; Christie Bates (J.W.), and Lanice Bennett (Brad), and extended family and friends. Henry was blessed with a bonus son in Clay Mullinex.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wheelock Methodist Church or the Wheelock Cemetery Association, PO Box 184, Wheelock, Texas 77882, in memory of Henry Youngblood.

James Larry Vaughn

James Larry Vaughn, born November 26, 1940, passed away on August 2, 2025 at the age of 84. He passed in the comfort of his home in Tomball, Texas.

Larry was a true cowboy who had a love for breaking, training, and raising horses. His appreciation of the outdoors was well-documented in countless photos and home movies of camping, hunting, and fishing trips and a plentiful yearly vegetable garden. He loved to cook, watch Westerns and sports, and entertain company with his anecdotes and quick wit. He gave several years of dedicated service to the Port of Houston. However, his devotion to his family was unmatched; he was never short on hugs, guidance, or support. He knew those he loved with surprising depth and would show it in countless, meaningful ways. One of Larry’s greatest gifts was making others feel seen. Larry and his wife were blessed with 53 years of marriage.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, Jesse and Mary, his sister Elizabeth, his brothers-in-law, Leo, Myrle, and Lawrence, his sisters-in-law, Jeanette and Patty, his sons-in-law, James and Lyle, and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy, Christine, and Cindy, his son-in-law, Mark, and his sister, Billie. His influence and memory are deeply treasured by ten grandchildren, six grandchildren-in-law, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Larry will be laid to rest at Suggs Cemetery in Hearne, Texas.
