Return to your Heart!
With all that is going on in our world, country, states, and cities it is a daily bombardment of the heart. It can pull the heart into anger, fear, grief, animosity, and so on. And these are not feelings we can simply bypass or shelf nor can we take those emotions and direct them at others. So what can we do? First, I remember that emotions are not good or bad, right or wrong, they are there to remind you of your heart path and the life you really want to live! What I do know is that there are so many resources, tools, and people out there that can support you. This is always a personal journey to find what is out there that connects to you. Here are some of the ways/tools that I work with:
-First I create time in my day. Maybe I get up a little earlier or choose to watch or engage with entertainment distractions another day.
-I then connect to my heart space, that space of love, compassion, and support. If I need help connecting there I bring in a beautiful loving memory. I feel into that space and invite it throughout my body. I breathe slowly and allow that loving peace in.
-Holding that space I then invite in the emotion that I’m working with and I notice how that feels and I feel it. Sometimes we just simply need to feel it, or maybe you inquire into what it’s bringing up for you…what is it asking of you? It could be asking for healing, loving connection with others, a compassionate step forward to the world you seek to live in (integrity, freedom, peace, etc), safety, and all other possibilities.
-I then feel back into my heart space and remember the power of love and the heart and I invite that into the emotion I am working with, I invite that into my insights, and calls to action. I work to understand what’s coming up in me and to see how my heart can shift and transform that pain to compassion. And it’s that place of compassion that I can move forward from into heart-based/loving actions in the world.
-I then send that compassion out to the world and to all that need that support today. I send it to all the hearts.
-And then I take my actions, and it doesn’t have to be big actions it can be small, like:
