Would anyone be interested in attending a Balm of Gilead foraging class Wednesday evening the 15th in Timber Lakes? We will be focusing on harvesting cottonwood buds and creating a salve for pain relief, sore muscles, arthritis, and wound care? I know it's short notice but the buds are ready to harvest on my property now. Comment below if interested and I will give you more information. Class would be $20 for materials.

After much reflection, I’ve decided to close the Lake Creek Herbal Apothecary retail shop at the end of February. I Will still be online, doing farmers markets, and orders for pickup locally.
I’ll be shifting my focus toward growing Mountain Metabolic & Functional Medicine, while continuing my herbal medicine work through farmers markets, classes, and future offerings.
This space and community have meant so much to me, and I’m deeply grateful for your support through this chapter. I’m excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to serve you in new ways.

High in the Rocky Mountains grows a root known as Osha, often called Bear Root.
Old stories tell us that bears seek this plant after waking from hibernation. They dig for the root, chew it, and rub it into their fur — a ritual of protection, healing, and renewal. The root itself is dark, tangled, and fibrous, resembling bear fur, as if the plant carries the spirit of the animal within it.
Osha has long been used as a guardian herb. Warm and powerful, it is traditionally turned to in times of illness, cold winds, and weakened lungs. Mountain people believed it helped protect the breath, strengthen the body, and ward off sickness during the long winters.
