Here's a creamy, dreamy, fiber-filled breakfast you can take with you on the go!

Start with:
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
2/3 cup cashews (I use raw cashew pieces bc they are way cheaper)

Pour some hot water over your seeds and let them soak about 20-30 min. Alternatively you can just use room temp water and let them soak overnight.

After the seeds have soaked, drain and rinse them, then add them to your blender.

To the blender add:
πŸ₯›Milk to the 4 cup line - about 3 cups (any milk will do, regular, almond milk, oat milk, lite coconut milk).
πŸ‹ Juice of 1 whole lemon or orange
3 T maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Blend until smooth (about 1 min).

Grab 4 jars (1/2 quart, 2 pint jars).

Add 2 T. Chia seeds to each jar. Pour in the seed milk mixture, filling eat jar about 2/3 the way full (gotta leave room for toppings)!

Set in the fridge for a couple hours. The chia seeds will soak up the liquid and thicken it to a pudding consistency.

ADD TOPPINGS!!! My fav combos include:

⭐ Blueberry, banana, peanut butter πŸ₯œ
⭐ Strawberry, banana, cacao nibs
⭐ Mango, kiwi, coconut flakes, h**p seeds

The sky's the limit here!

Take it with you on the go (I love using frozen berries when taking it on the go bc they help keep it cold and thaw in time for lunch)!

The secret to a breakfast that keeps you full for hours is that it has these 3 things...

Protein! Fat! Fiber!

PROTEIN - the base in this pudding is actually a blend of soaked cashews, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds blended with almond milk, vanilla and a touch of maple syrup. Then I stir in the chia seeds and let it set. All in all, I'm getting about 20g of protein.

FAT - the seeds in this pudding are also healthy sources of fat. I soak them and blend them to make a rich, creamy base. It also makes the seeds easier to digest!

FIBER - basically every single thing here is fiber packed from the seeds in the pudding to the cacao nibs, coconut, berries and bananas. Fiber help you to feel full, stay full for hours and blunts the blood sugar response to the sweeter components like banana and maple syrup.

One batch makes 8 servings, so its really easy to make ahead of time and have super quick breakfasts on the go all week.

Max came to me worried about the weight he'd been gaining, needing more energy, better sleep and concerned because his blood pressure was still high even after trying multiple medications to bring it down.

Max also made it very clear on our first visit that he really didn't want to go on on diet or give up eating and drinking his favorite things 🍷

He was a perfect fit for The Fasting Fix Program.

After completing just 3 modified fasts, Max's blood pressure had come down an astonishing 30mmHg total (15/15 mmHg). πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Are you doing Intermittent Fasting all wrong?! Not seeing any weight loss? Feeling more tired than you were before?

It might be because the way you were taught to do Intermittent Fasting was completely backwards!!!

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they should skip breakfast or delay eating in the morning when doing intermittent fasting, but this almost always backfires.

SKIPPING BREAKFAST

❎ higher blood sugar response to meals when you finally do eat.

❎ higher insulin response to meals which stops fat burning in its tracks.

❎ highest level of hunger hormones in the evening when you're tired and more likely to give into food cravings.

❎ higher cortisol levels during the day (a stress hormone that can trigger belly fat accumulation).

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO INSTEAD?

🀩 Eat a hearty breakfast with at least 25-35 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber from whole foods (individual needs may vary, but this works really well for most).

🀩 Start your fast right after dinner, and eat dinner at least 3 hours before going to bed so your meal is fully digested before going to sleep. You'll sleep better and your digestion will run smoother.

🀩 front load your food - your metabolism and digestion work best at the start of the day and slow down as the day goes on. Eat most of your food earlier in the day - you will naturally be less hungry in the evening and have fewer cravings.

You need a healthy metabolism to lose weight.

In order to have a healthy metabolism you must regularly meet your nutrient and energy needs from eating enough food and eating nutrient-dense food.

That's one reason dieting or cutting calories does NOT work in the long run.

If you consistently eat less food than what your body needs or don't get enough vital nutrients, your metabolism simply slows down.

You just end up more tired than before, and life feels harder. This slowing of the metabolism is often imperceptible at first.

Your muscles might twitch less.

Your body temperature might run a little colder.

You will blink less. It's true!

You'll feel less motivated.

You'll think slower and be easily fatigued by cognitive and physical tasks.

That's why fasting is such a better tool for weight loss! It's one of the best ways to improve your metabolic health AND promote weight loss at the same time.

When you fast, you are cutting calories dramatically but ONLY for a short period of time.

This keeps your metabolism revved up, targets fat loss and preserves muscle (your secret weapon for boosting you metabolism).

I'll admit that getting my clients to try organ meats can be a bit of a tough sell sometimes.

They seem strange and unfamiliar, and many of them have strong flavors or funny textures that take some getting used to.

While this is true, the nutritional value of organ meats is unmatched by any other food, so they're worth the try, and there are some easy and even very tasty ways to try them!

If you're new to eating organ meats, one of the easiest ways to get started is by making your own homemade bone broth (yes bones are an organ).

Bone broth is an easy, affordable and delicious way to dabble in organ meats. Roasted marrow bones are also incredibly delicious and easy to love. So start with bones.

Once you're feeling adventurous I suggest trying heart. It has a stronger flavor than muscle meat, but since the heart is a muscle in its own right, the texture is fairly similar to what you're used to. Season it well, marinate it, and cook it like you would cook a nice steak (don't overcook it).

If you're ready to give liver a try, start with chicken liver patΓ©. The French really know what they're doing here.

If patΓ© on a cracker is too much, try hiding it by adding a tablespoon or two of patΓ© to well-seasoned meat dishes like burgers, spaghetti sauce, chili, or meatloaf. You won't taste the liver.

This is how I eat liver and sneak it into our family meals - they've never noticed. πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‡

Sunchokes! I got so many questions about them after my story yesterday, I wanted to tell you more about one of my favorite vegetables!

Sunchokes go by many names - Jerusalem artichoke, earth apple, sunroot, and my favorite "the fart-ichoke" πŸ˜…

They get that glamorous nickname from being very high in a prebiotic fiber called inulin (which you also find in onions, leeks, asparagus, bananas, garlic, and chicory root).

Inulin FEEDS GUT MICROBES like pizza feeds teenagers - they go wild for it!

And you should go wild for sunchokes because they are crunchy, mild-flavored and slightly sweet. They are delicious both raw and roasted.

Swipe through the slides for my favorite "recipe" and let me know if you try them. They are in-season in the spring and fall as they love the cooler weather like most other root vegetables. So go out and get some!
