OUR POLICY REGARDING COVID-19
We at Wasatch Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine wanted to reach out to all of our patients and let them know that we are taking the current spread of covid19 seriously. Our plan is to REMAIN OPEN, but to take every precaution in keeping our office sanitary and to do our part to prevent any spread of the virus. You are all at various stages in your rehab. It's important that we continue with your physical therapy to make sure that even during this community crisis, you are able to get the care you need so that you can make a full recovery. We are committed to you and your rehab. We are also committed to taking all recommended precautions as instructed by the CDC for health care providers to ensure the prevention and spread of covid19.
The following are a few of the steps we are taking to ensure your safety:
1) Actively encourage any employees or patients who show symptoms to stay home:
Employees or patients who have symptoms of acute respiratory illness are recommended to stay home and not come to work until they are free of fever (100.4° F [37.8° C] or greater using an oral thermometer), signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, or cleared by a physician, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants).
2) Emphasize and promote respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene by all employees:
Provide tissues and no-touch disposal receptacles for use by employees and patients. Instruct employees and patients to clean their hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol, or wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially if hands are visibly dirty.
Provide soap and water and alcohol-based hand rubs in the workplace. Ensure that adequate supplies are maintained. Place hand rubs in multiple locations and in patient treatment rooms to encourage hand hygiene.
3) Perform routine environmental cleaning:
Routinely (after each patient) clean all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace, such as tables, exercises equipment, medical equipment, counter-tops, and doorknobs. Use the cleaning agents that are usually used in these areas and follow the directions on the label.
Deeper cleaning will performed at the end of each day.
Provide disposable wipes for commonly used surfaces (for example, doorknobs, keyboards, remote controls, desks) to be used by employees or patients.
4) Maintain 3- 6 foot barrier from other patients . We realize that our style of therapy requires direct contact between therapists and aides. We will try our best to maintain this barrier for all in the clinic. We ask for your advice and assistance in maintaining this barrier with other clients.
We feel confident that we can continue to provide quality care in the face of this rapidly progressing virus. I think by working together we can continue to function normally in the face of this crisis.
I like to sum it up this way and suggest we Do the Five
1. Hands - Wash them often
2. Elbow - Cough into it
3. Face - Don't touch it
4. Feet - Stay more than 3-6 feet apart
5. Feel - Sick? Stay Home!
