Today’s PM Pre-K was all about making friendly monsters, and we even had a little song to get our cutting fingers ready!

First, the fun steps:
* Mystery Numbers! 🔢 Each little artist picked a secret number to guide their monster creation.
* Scissor Skills Party! 🎉 We channeled our inner monster-makers and got busy with our scissors, practicing that important "open-shut" motion to create colorful strips for our monsters. Talk about a fine motor workout!
* Counting Googly Eyes! 👀 The grand finale? Gluing on the exact number of googly eyes to match their chosen number!

📢 TKA Families: A Spooktacular Week of Fun! 🎃
We are so excited for a week packed with fun, fall-themed activities leading up to a HUGE day of "No Tricks, Just Treats" on Friday, October 31st!

Our day is going to be full of festive community fun. Please check the attached flyer for the full timeline!

🎃 10:00 AM: Thayer County Health Services Trick or Treating!
🎃 6:00 PM: TKA attends Hebron's Trunk or Treat!

✨A Note on the Morning Parade (10:00 AM):
Our teachers will use their discretion to decide if their group can attend the parade. This is based on signed permission slips, the weather/temperature (especially for our youngest groups!), and to ensure our infants and toddlers stay on their important nap schedules. Safety and comfort come first!

✨Costume Check-In:
If your child needs a costume, please reach out to us immediately! We'll make sure every little ghoul and goblin has something cute to wear.

✨Suggested Pick-Up Time:
While we'll have staff here until close, we have a suggested pick-up time of 4:45 PM to allow our wonderful team to attend and help with the Lions Club Halloween Parade and other fun downtown festivities starting at 5:00 PM. Your help in this is greatly appreciated!

We've been so busy exploring all things pumpkin these past few weeks! Every single one of our classroom students received a pumpkin to investigate and enjoy!

We want to send a huge thank you to Hintz Produce for their generous discount and delivery on our pumpkins, and to Ms. Kendra and Matt for donating an individual pumpkin for each of our students to decorate!✨

Learning About Our ROCKS Unit! 🪨

Learning through touch! Today we had a hands-on lesson about opposites.

✨We talked about how a rock is HARD and HEAVY, and a feather is SOFT and LIGHT. Everyone got a chance to hold them and feel the difference! Hands-on learning like this is critical for toddlers because it engages multiple senses, building stronger brain connections that make the concepts more meaningful and memorable!

When they actively hold a hard, heavy rock and a soft, light feather, they are building stronger brain connections that make the concepts of 'hard' and 'soft' more meaningful and memorable than just hearing the words!

* Months of the Year: Mastering vocabulary and learning the order of time! ☀️❄️
* Name Tracing: The most important word to write! This helps with proper pencil grip and control for all future handwriting! 🎨
