G4 Fitness

G4 Fitness I am a certified nutrition coach and personal trainer. The owner of G4 Fitness. The G4 stands for: God, Goals, Grind and Growth I became very frustrated.

Hello, my name is Julie LaPorta and I am the owner of G4 Fitness. I am a wife, mother and I have four grandchildren. I was an athlete while growing up but when I turned 40 I started gaining weight and would stress eat. I became an emotional eater and the pounds started coming on. I tried all kinds of different diets and I would lose weight but then when I stop the diet I would gain the weight right back. My muscles hurt with fibromyalgia and arthritis was starting. I was so unhealthy and knew I had to make a “true “change in my lifestyle. So in 2015 my personal journey to living a healthy lifestyle started. I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer. I noticed my body was changing but in one year I had only lost 10 pounds. I went and talked to the owner of the gym and he talked to me about the food I was eating. I learned I could not work out enough to overcome a bad diet. I started the lifestyle with macronutrient base program which gave me the tools I needed to learn to live a healthy lifestyle. I went from 178 pounds to 140 pounds!! I have never felt better! I have more energy, the fibromyalgia that I had battled with and had controlled me, I now have control of it. I joined a CrossFit Box and started doing Spartan Races and I competed my first Cross Fit Open last year at the age of 57!! The program worked!! I had finely found something that taught me a healthy lifestyle and gave me the tools to do it myself. It inspired me to get my certification through Macro Missionary and become a nutrition coach so that I can teach others and help them live a healthy life. I also became a certified Personal Trainer and love teaching others how to be stronger. I would love to help you achieve your goals. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, reduce health risks. I want to see you live life to its fullest being the real you! At G4 Fitness I will create a training environment that will motivate you and give you knowledge and the tools you need to reach your goals. I will develop a plan that fits your lifestyle. I will be there to guide you and support you every step of the way!

➡️Hydration for youth!
Besides healthy food choices for our youth, they need adequate hydration. Active youth should have at least eight glasses of water a day. Keep in mind that muscle is over 75 percent water!

👉Water is vital for muscles to function efficiently; it helps transport nutrients and oxygen to muscle cells and removes waste byproducts.

👉Staying hydrated improves muscle strength, endurance, and function, while dehydration can lead to cramps and reduced performance.

Training sets for kids: studies suggest that beginners who perform one high-effort set of each exercise experience excellent strength gains. Therefore, single-set resistant training is an efficient means for increasing muscle strength in young boys and girls during the first few weeks of strength training.

After the initial adaptation, performing two or three sets per exercise may lead to even greater strength development over time, especially if done progressively.

Approximately 1 in 5 U.S. children and adolescents have obesity.

Let’s get our kids moving!

There is more to our hunger than simply a need for fuel. Sometimes, the emotion or experience we associate with certain foods can cause us to crave them even when our bodies don't actually need them. 🤨

For example, you might feel nostalgic for the comfort food of your childhood or crave something salty if you have been working out heavily and need to hydrate your body. 💦

Similarly, a particular food's taste or texture can trigger feelings of dopamine in the brain that subconsciously drive us to eat it again and again.

While there is nothing wrong with satisfying our emotional or sensory hunger now and then, it is important to remember that these drives should not be seen as imperatives, and we should avoid indulging in unhealthy foods simply because they are familiar or enjoyable. 👈
