And finally...on Day 40 of I recorded something!

Sorry for the delay. It's like it was spring break and Easter weekend and I spent 48 hours baking in my kitchen or something – oh! And I'm growing a human 🤰

That's right! I decided I need a few more years of stinky diapers and my floor constantly littered in toys in exchange for another silly human that I get to snuggle 🥰

But yes, I did the all through the icky parts of my first trimester and I am grateful. I didn't post every day, but I only skipped my yoga less than a handful of times. Pretty proud since I didn't feel great, and yoga is probably why I felt good at all.

Anyway, here's some reflections from the past 40 days...

- Posting every day is ridiculous and me, my phone and computer don't have the capacity for it.
- Just a little bit of yoga can do a lot of good.
- Yoga with my kids is wayyy more fun now compared to how it use to be.
- But it's still good for me to have my private yoga time.

Anyway, content coming...one day 🤪

Day 39(?) of

Stop. Drop. And yoga 🧘‍♀️

No really. I've been on my feet all day. I need to stay awake at least until everything comes out of the oven. I don't know what I need, but I do at the same time. Not every pose has a name and it's still just as good as one that does...like these standing forward fold variations 🤷‍♀️

Tell me about your favorite non-pose poses!

Day 37 of

Wednesday is the middle of the week so it makes sense that we practice in the middle of the day. I like to go with funky moves and move "out of [traditional] order" to shake me up a little in the middle of the day.

I practiced for approximately 2 minutes before my 4 year old exclaimed, "Mommy's doing yoga!"

It was the sweetest yoga sesh crash yet.

Day 36 of

(Okay pretend this was yesterday)

Tuesdays we take care of ourselves. We tackles our problems and do the poses we need most.

Even if they're rudimentary.
Even if they lack modern "pizazz".
Even if we don't want to.

Because often yoga is like taking a pill. It's not something we look forward to or always want to make time for.

But it's good for us. It keeps us thriving.

And pyramid pose will always be a banger.

I know I've been a little MIA but it's day 35 of but I'm gonna finish this last week strong!

For focus this last week I decided to test drive a series I've been working on, a sort of "yoga for each day of the week" thing. Today was actually the perfect Monday for my "A Moment of Mindfulness" sequence. We had cranky kids throughout the night (resulting in cranky adults), my son was up at 3 am and so was I, and everything was just...off.

My day actually ended up being really full. I spent it with a friend and our kids played, and it was crazy, but beautiful and perfect too.

Still, this 5-ish minute routine was the perfect thing to ground me after the chaos of the day 🌬

Anyway, would you be interested in a 7 Days of Yoga series?

On Day 16 of of yoga my shoulders and legs were sore from all the new movement, my brain clocked out early from work, and my already high anxiety was ticking just a little bit higher.

So, I logged out of all my social media and stayed focused on my kids.

Asana is just one part of yoga and it wasn't going to benefit me yesterday. At my workshop (last week? Two weeks ago?) Julia Johnson reminded us that the goal of yoga has always been calmness of the mind. So, yesterday yoga was more quiet time, more cuddles, and even making shadow puppets after dinner.

Yesterday was the best yoga 👌

Last night I spent some time loosening up my tight hips: knee circles, cobbler pose (repeated obsessively), lunges of all kinds, lizard–all while my kids told me which Baby Shark version to play after one another. Then a two minute pigeon on the right, then an extended pigeon hold on the left.

And i saw God.

Friends, I'm heartbroken that I even have to make this request, but please consider a donation benefitting my cousin Kelsey Vice.

Tuesday morning she lost her husband, Cory, to a tragic car accident. In addition to losing the love of her life and the father to her brand new child she has lost her primary income. Kelsey also has complex medical issues and is the full-time caretaker of her and Cory's young and premature son, Channing. These both carry costs as well as prevent her from working full-time.

If you have anything to spare, there is no one more deserving of your donation than Kelsey.

Even before this she has endured heartbreaks and challenges that would crush most people. Instead, she continues to smile, jumps to help others, showers you in appreciation, and just continues to go on no matter what.

I am so grateful to have seen Cory in the months since becoming a father. To witness his eyes and heart full of love and admiration towards Kelsey and their miracle baby is a gift I'll cherish forever. Same with the smile on his face when I congratulated him on his beautiful Channing, and he just quipped "Thanks! I'm responsible for half of that" like it was his biggest and proudest accomplishment.

Please help us take care of Kelsey and Channing as they navigate this transition.

Donations of any size are appreciated, and please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
