Join us in welcoming Paul Pelroy, FNP-C, to Benefis! Paul is a nurse practitioner who provides same-day care for patients of all ages. He set his sights on medicine midway through his 30-year career with the U.S. Navy. He first followed a similar path as his mother, a registered nurse, before becoming a family nurse practitioner. Caring for patients at all stages of life led him to focus on family medicine, but he also has nursing experience in emergency medicine. His goal is to work with his patients to develop a care plan that is effective and beneficial. “I think that patients enjoy being a part of the decision process,” he says. “It gives them ownership in their care.” In his free time, Paul values time with family. He enjoys reading, watching movies, and woodworking.

Please join us in congratulating ICU RN, Olesia Soldyshev for receiving LifeCenter Northwest's August LifeSaver Award. This award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to save lives.

Olesia was recognized for the outstanding care she gave a patient under her charge in the ICU and her efforts keeping the patient's kidneys and lungs healthy enough for donation. "From the moment she took over care for this patient, she went above and beyond," the nomination said. "She was kind, motivated, and showed so much care and attention to the patient." Thanks to her dedication and collaboration with the organ donation team, that patient went on to save three lives. “Olesia’s whole heart was invested in caring for this patient, which was a gift for the patient, their family, and ultimately their recipients,” her nomination read. Congratulations, Olesia, on this well-deserved recognition!

The Benefis Healthy Lifestyle Program can help you reduce your risk by teaching and encouraging healthy lifestyle changes. The 12-month program includes topics on nutrition, exercise, and behavioral changes.
Virtual sessions begin at noon Tuesday, Sept. 16.

On September 26, Benefis Health System will host a regional Skin Cancer Conference dedicated to advancing knowledge in screening, treatment, and prevention. The event is designed for primary care providers, dermatology professionals, oncologists, nurses, medical aestheticians, and others engaged in the care of patients at risk for or affected by skin cancer. This accredited educational activity offers participants the opportunity to earn up to 6.5 CME/CE credits through partnerships with the University of Washington and the Montana Nurses Association.

She is committed to providing nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, whole-person care. Mira grew up in a family of healthcare professionals and attributes her passion for counseling others to her empathetic and curious nature. “My approach is to meet my clients where they are,” she says. “I strive to be genuine with them so they can feel comfortable being genuine also.” She enjoys spending her free time hiking with her husband and their dogs.

Dr. MacNutt is a board-certified neurosurgeon who provides care for patients with a variety of neurological and spinal conditions that require surgical intervention. Serving as the endpoint of what can often be a long medical journey is a point of pride for Dr. MacNutt. He provides medical advice and treatment options that are in the best interest of his patients, helping them move forward while employing a down-to-earth communication style.

Outside of his practice, Dr. MacNutt enjoys outdoor activities during all seasons. His favorites include snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hockey, curling, and hiking.
