💛 We were thrilled to welcome Congressman Troy Downing to Shodair Children’s Hospital this week!

Thanks to his office, Shodair received nearly $2.3 million from the IRS through Employee Retention Credits (ERC), providing crucial support for our pediatric mental health programs across Montana.

During his visit, he toured our new hospital, spent time with staff, and even played a few tunes and did a group project with some of our youngest patients! 🎶

“Shodair’s mission to provide comprehensive pediatric mental healthcare services is setting the next generation of Montanans up for success, and I’m thrilled that we were able to claw back these funds from the IRS so that they can be redeployed where they’re needed most—Big Sky Country, not Washington,” said Congressman Downing.

We are so grateful for his office’s support in securing these funds and for his commitment to helping Montana’s kids and families thrive.

💙 Thank you to The Exchange Club of Helena for donating nearly 200 teddy bears to Shodair! 🐻

Each bear will be given to a child on their first day here, offering comfort and calm in a moment of crisis. This simple gift makes the biggest difference for kids facing their darkest storms!

On the road today with a stop at Salish Kootenai College when a lovely woman stopped us. She wanted to share how her daughter’s life, and ultimately her own, was changed after receiving treatment for suicidal ideations and self- harm.

It takes bravery and grit to face mental health challenges, and absolute courage to talk about it openly.

Thank you to this family who allowed Shodair to help.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and adolescents? Join our team as a Mental Health Tech (MHT) and play a vital role in providing care, support, and guidance to our patients.

🕑 Shift: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
📅 Schedule: Four 9-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend

As an MHT, you’ll:

None of this summer’s excitement at Shodair would have been possible without the incredible generosity of First Interstate Bank, whose $20,000 gift made our first-ever Hope and Thunder Days basketball skills camp a reality. Their commitment to supporting kids and families helped us bring hope and healing to the community in a big way!

This summer, Shodair proudly launched Hope and Thunder Days and introduced our new hospital mascots to the community. The highlight was day two, a free basketball skills camp, where nearly 100 kids had the chance to learn, grow, and have fun together right here at Shodair. 🏀✨
