Fun tomato fact for a Monday! Did you know that we use electric toothbrushes as an important tool in our pollination process? Pollination for tomatoes takes place when the "anther" portion of the plant drops pollen onto the "stigma" portion of the plant. Typically this occurs when bees, wind, or other critters wiggle the plants. At West Mont, our clients move through the greenhouses with electric toothbrushes to help to shake the "anther" portion and assist our tomato plants in the pollination process.

We cannot express how proud we are of our clients and staff at the flower shop, and how grateful we are for your support and encouragement. Our Farm Vocational Program has been working hard since February to grow some incredible Big Beef tomato plants. Want a chance to grow tomatoes this summer? We will be selling potted tomato plants from our Farm this Saturday at the Downtown Helena Farmer's Market from 9am to 1pm on Fuller Ave!
