Please join us in congratulating Physical Therapist Mary Stevens for receiving the BEE Award. A companion to the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, the BEE Award
is given to an exceptional general or professional St. Peter’s staff member
nominated by patients, family members and colleagues.

The patient who nominated Stevens said she is an excellent example of how a Physical Therapist can change their patient’s lives. “Mary uses her listening and communication skills to allow each of her patients to know how important they are in her therapy sessions. She also learns other patient’s names and greets them with a smile and hello when they arrive."

Mary's specialty is Aquatics and Chronic Pain. She helps with our Aquatics on Tuesday's and Thursdays. She also teaches Mindful Water Exercises at 2:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursday's at Capital City Health Club. Wish her congrats if you run into her! We want to welcome Steven C**n to our PTCCHC team! Steven has been a great asset to our team and has been working with us since December 2022. Here is his story
In 1985 the lumber industry was tanking in our country and at the time I was employed by St Regis Paper and Lumber Company in Libby MT and also played music in a Rock Band. I had graduated from Libby High just three years earlier so I did not have much in terms of practical skills. One night my dad, a foreman at the “company” said “you had better think about finding some skills that will be valuable to you for most of your life”. At the time the only thing I could come up with was the US Navy. So, I enlisted and spent 4 years on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. This was the best thing I could have done for myself. I learned to preserver and “turn to” the job ahead of me. After discharge in 1990 I spent 7 years in college applying those two qualities and achieving the skills of a Physical Therapist. Since 1997 I have enjoyed my job/career more than I can express. Establishing and progressing functional mobility in a person is my passion and my main interest. In my free time I am on my mountain bike training or competing. I enjoy the fitness, diversion, and competition.

Did you know sleep deprivation predicts chronic pain greater than chronic pain predicts sleep deprivation. Also, proper nutrition and sleep are especially important during time of high training and stress. Sleep deprivation is one modifiable risk factor we can change for decreasing our overall injury risk.

He enjoys treating patients with a variety of conditions such as total joint rehabilitation, post-operative, sport-injury prevention training, and overall general orthopedics. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters. He enjoys to hiking, camping, and fishing in the great Montana outdoors. He also enjoys high school events and supporting our high school athletes.
His professional goals include working towards becoming a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy with the American Physical Therapy Association. Introducing our newest member at Capital City Health Club Jenna Amman.
Jenna goes to Helena High School, where she is currently a junior. She is hoping to go into something with business or education. Or maybe both. Her favorite hobbies are playing tennis and walking her dog whenever she can. She states "I have learned so much since starting in September. My favorite thing about PT so far is being able to watch so many different Physical Therapists specialize in and watching Francesca dry needle patients is my favorite."
She has been a great addition to our clinic and we are very thankful to have her help with tech duties, scheduling, assisting patients, etc. Make sure to say "hi" when you visit!
