Montana Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention

Montana Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention We are dedicated to strengthening the overall fitness and effectiveness of the Montana NG workforce, What is Resilient?

Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness
Mission: Increase the physical and psychological health, resilience and enhance the performance of Soldiers, Families and Army Civilians. Vision: A Total Army team of physically healthy and psychologically strong Soldiers, Families and Civilians whose resilience and total fitness enables them to thrive in the military and civilian sector and to meet a wide range of operational demands. In Montana, we have taken a three pronged approach to CSF2:

Suicide Prevention:
Overall wellness is readiness. The State of Montana has recently tied with Wyoming for the highest suicide rate in the nation. Our wellness team believes that one suicide is one too many. Our goal is for the Montana Army National Guard to be a suicide safe community. To accomplish our goal, we will begin providing prevention training to all soldiers. We will even go beyond prevention by training intervention and postvention to all leaders (ACE/ACE SI/ASIST. This page will provide education, inspiration and positive words of encouragement to all followers. Resiliency:
The MTARNG Resilience Program mirrors the US Army's Ready and Resilient campaign in training and resourcing the Montana Army National Guard and their families to be more resilient and more able to take on the challenges of life. It is "the mental, physical, emotional, and behavioral ability to face and cope with adversity, adapt to change, recover, learn and grow from setbacks (http://www.army.mil/readyandresilient)." As Soldiers and Families become more resilient, they are more able to take on the challenges of life and become more effective Soldiers and leaders for our State and our Nation. Substance Abuse Prevention:
The purpose of the SAP is to deter substance abuse by providing:
-Prevention education and referral resources to ARNG Soldiers
-Commanders with the tools to assess the security and military fitness of their Unit
Substance abuse is a manpower and personnel readiness issue that erodes Soldier fitness. This page is a collaborative effort to provide education and raise awareness around increasing overall health and wellness of MTARNG.
