Montana Spine & Joint Rehab is expanding our services to include Telehealth Physical Therapy. Your recovery doesn’t have to pause when life gets busy. Whether you’re at home, on the road, or simply prefer the ease of virtual care, our team now brings specialized physical therapy directly to you. This approach is ideal for professionals, parents, outdoor athletes, rural residents, and anyone who values convenience and quick access to a specialist.

During your virtual visit, you’ll work one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist who will take the time to understand your symptoms, your history, and how specific movements affect your pain. Our physical therapists are certified in the McKenzie Method, a highly effective system that translates beautifully to a virtual environment. Your therapist will guide you through targeted movements to classify your condition and identify the most effective exercises for your situation. You’ll receive a personalized plan to follow between sessions, and we will continue monitoring your progress remotely so your treatment can be adjusted as you improve.

With secure access from any phone, tablet, or computer, our telehealth services are available to residents all across Montana. Wherever you are, we’re here to keep your recovery moving forward.

We have been busy this fall and have added another wonderful physical therapist to our team, Peyton Nansel!

Peyton is a proud 4th-generation Montanan who is dedicated to helping individuals restore function, reduce pain, and return to the activities they love. He completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Kinesiology at Montana State-Billings, then his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Montana. He first gained experience as a PT from combined outpatient and hospital-based settings; then as an owner-operator at a PT gym.

His passion for movement quality and functional restoration came from being raised on his family ranch in Southeastern MT, as well as dealing with multiple injuries in his youth. His treatment style focuses on identifying the root cause of dysfunction rather than solely treating the symptom. He enjoys working collaboratively with patients to build strength, improve mobility, and optimize performance at all activity levels—from everyday tasks to athletic pursuits and occupational demands.

Outside of the clinic, Peyton is an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoys hunting and fishing across Montana’s terrain. He values spending time with friends and family, combining his love of nature with quality time together.

He is excited to serve the Helena community and explore this beautiful piece of the state!

Peyton is accepting new patients right now!

Join us in honoring all the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication.

Did you know? While exercise-based healing has ancient roots, modern physical therapy in the U.S. began in 1918 during World War I. A group of 18 pioneering women, known as “Reconstruction Aides,” used exercise and massage to help injured soldiers recover and regain strength.

One of these trailblazers, Mary McMillan, went on to found the American Women’s Physical Therapeutic Association in 1921, laying the foundation for today’s physical therapy profession.

💪 We owe so much to these early leaders — their dedication shaped the field we proudly continue today!

🧟‍♀️ Don’t wait until Halloween night to start moving!

If you’ve been sitting more than you’ve been strolling lately, it’s time to shake off that zombie walk.

👉 Get up, stretch, and do a few of your favorite PT exercises this week — your body will thank you!

✅ Tip: Bend your knees when lifting 🎃
✅ Stretch your spine before & after trick-or-treating
✅ Stay hydrated (yes, even on candy night!)

Lisa, Jaden and Chelsey made the trip to Missoula yesterday and visited The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at University of Montana for their Job Fair. We got to visit with 1st, 2nd and 3rd year graduate students, faculty and other PT clinics from all over. There was a great turn out this year of booths and we really enjoyed getting to know fellow PT colleagues and future colleagues!

Help us welcome one of our newest Physical Therapist to the team, Emily Taylor! Here is a little about her!

Emily is a dedicated physical therapist with a passion for helping people achieve their goals and return to the activities they love. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University in 2017 and has since gained extensive experience working with a diverse range of patients as a traveling physical therapist.

Driven by a belief in treating the whole person, Emily is committed to building a strong therapeutic alliance with each patient. She listens intently to their stories and works collaboratively to create a personalized treatment plan that goes beyond simply addressing symptoms. Her additional certifications in dry needling (from the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy) and the Barbell Rehab Method allow her to integrate a variety of evidence-based techniques to help patients move better and feel stronger.

Having personally experienced physical therapy for back injuries from gymnastics and various running-related issues, Emily brings a unique sense of empathy to her practice.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Emily has called Helena home for the past few years and loves everything Montana has to offer. When she's not at the clinic, you can find her mountain biking, hiking, or spending time with her family.
