A military career may come to an end, but the service, sacrifice, and responsibility carried through those years never truly stop.
Retirement isn’t a closing chapter — it’s a transition into legacy. Stories lived, lessons learned, and commitments made still matter long after the uniform is hung up. Those moments deserve to be preserved with the same respect they were earned.

Stars & Stripes Woodworks was founded in 2017, by owner & woodworker, USAF Disabled Veteran, SSgt Chris Fehringer.
SSgt Fehringer served over 8 years in the United States Air Force, with two deployments overseas. On his last deployment, in 2014, Fehringer was a member of the Air Force’s C-SMART (Configurable Small Maintenance Repair Team) in Afghanistan. While providing maintenance and LSS (Life Saving Support) to US Army Special Forces, he sustained a shoulder injury during a ground and IDF (indirect fire) attack. When he returned stateside, he spent the next two years going through physical therapy and surgery, before finally being medically discharged from the Air Force in May of 2017.
During those two years, Fehringer would build going away shadow boxes and flag display cases for fellow service members and veterans. What started as his own personnel “therapy” and side gig, grew into what is now the business, Stars & Stripes Woodworks.
Frustrated with seeing flag display cases and shadow boxes in craft stores that are made in China, using subpar particle board, Stars & Stripes Woodworks believes our nation’s heroes deserve items made well, here in the U.S.A. Utilizing only real domestic hardwoods, each item is handcrafted by veterans. Always paying attention to detail, these beautiful pieces pay great tribute to our military service members, and first responders.
Stars & Stripes Woodworks also has a continual mission to give back to the Veteran Community through organizations such as Luke’s Wings®, and Wounded Warrior Project®. Not only holding a strong belief in providing an exceptional product, but also having a strong emphasis on Veterans supporting Veterans.
