Nurse Mike and Sharon have a special bond because they both find their reset with fresh air, good conversation, a cup of coffee, and sharing a meaningful moment with a friend.

Sharon is extremely caring and looks for opportunities to share her love, hugging everyone in Memory Care, and one of the things that makes Mike a great nurse is that he is willing to get up and go for a walk with someone who needs it even if he's already busy with something. ❤️

It is our tremendous joy to listen to the Helena Symphony final rehearsal of their iconic Christmas at the Cathedral event this morning. Many of our residents are Helena natives and have gone to this performance for decades. Being able to continue this tradition with their families and Edgewood friends is very special.

“I never wanted to stop learning.” JC brings her practical, kind, and unstoppable attitude to Edgewood Helena.

Though she originally began her studies in pre-nursing, which taught her the importance of health and balance, her love of learning carried her further. She earned a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Liberal Arts, and eventually, a PhD in Music in her 70s! Amazing! Music became a lifelong companion, from singing in the church choir to loving opera before it was trendy, and to today, enjoying attending the Helena Symphony with friends.

Work has always also been JC’s rhythm. She met her husband Ron over a pile of dirty dishes during a work-study job in college. Together, they built a life rooted in practicality, shared values, and sound advice: consult before every purchase, save more than you spend, and never buy what you don’t truly need.

Life, of course, has not been without hardship. A serious fall in her later years left her with memory loss and a scar on her upper lip, along with a chipped tooth she chose not to repair. Practical as ever, she decided it wasn’t worth the cost. Instead of mourning the change, she carried it with grace, letting it be a part of her story. When told that she is still extremely beautiful, she graciously responded with "Ah, I'm glad you think so" and a truly beautiful smile, chipped tooth, and all.

It's people like JC that fill our communities. “Think of me as a nice person. Educated. Someone with a little wisdom to offer." We are Edgewood.
