Today, while working the line on the Wolf Fire, your Hemet firefighters took time to visit the Esperanza Fire Memorial. We paused to honor the five fallen heroes who gave their lives in service on October 26, 2006:

Firefighter Jason McKay
Firefighter Daniel Hoover-Najera
Firefighter Pablo Cerda

Their sacrifice is never forgotten. We carry their legacy with us.

This week, Hemet Firefighters participated in the California Professional Firefighters Legislative Conference in Sacramento. Our delegation met directly with state legislators to discuss critical issues affecting both firefighters and our community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Senator Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh (SD19), Assembly Member Jeff Gonzalez (AD36), and Assembly Member Dr. Corey Jackson (AD60) for their valuable time and engagement. Each legislator dedicated significant attention to our concerns and collaborated with us on developing actionable solutions.​​​​​​​

Standing shoulder to shoulder with in Sacramento today! 🔥 Our heartfelt gratitude to 19th District California Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh for an incredibly productive meeting on critical firefighter issues facing our communities.

HFFA Local 2342 leadership is proud to represent Hemet alongside our brothers from and as we advocate for enhanced health protections, improved safety standards, and greater security measures for all California firefighters.

Together, we’re ensuring the voices of those who protect our communities are heard loud and clear at the Capitol!

“🔥 Hemet Fire Brush 303 was deployed with Strike Team 6074C to the in Bishop, assisting with mop-up and containment operations. Proud to do our part in keeping communities safe!

03/25/2025

On March 24th at approximately 3:30 AM, Hemet Fire units B1, E4, E3, E2, E1, S1, and E5 were dispatched to a commercial structure fire in the 800 block of S Cawston. Crews arrived on scene and found a fire on the exterior of the building extending into the structure. A quick fire attack kept the damage to the business minimal. No injuries reported and the fire is under investigation by HFD Prevention Officer 2.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Hemet City Fire Fighter Association President Dave Prietto and Vice President Dan Billington to discuss the countless lives, homes, and businesses our firefighters have saved.
