🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month as we all know and I wanted to point out that the current statistics (according to American Cancer Society) have 1 in 8 women receiving a cancer diagnosis at some point in their life.
The numbers skyrocket once a woman hits their 40s, although it’s becoming more common than you think to hear of women in their 30s getting this sad news.
Though the numbers are currently fact, we have the powerful opportunity to change the trajectory of that, all by the lifestyle choices we make daily.
For decades people thought you only get cancer if it “runs in the family”.. that’s FALSE. It’s only 5%. That’s right- just 5% of all cancer diagnosis is actually genetic.
Cancer is triggered by our everyday lifestyle choices, our environment (physical and emotional) and our overall well being.
Lowering stress, getting 8 hours of sleep, drinking more water, exercise, cooking at home frequently, and exposing your home and body to less toxins are great ways to lower your risk. And if you’re currently diagnosed, these are powerful tools for you to use as the things you can control help lower inflammation and help heal you in your current journey.
Just one small change a day over time creates the greatest impact. 💝
