Do you know when you should get screened for prostate cancer? Typically, guidelines depend on your age and risk level.

🩺 Here’s what doctors recommend:
Age 50+: Talk with your provider about a PSA blood test.

Age 45+: Men over the age of 45 who are African American or who have a close relative diagnosed before age 65 are considered high-risk for their age and should discuss screening earlier than most.

Age 40+: If you have multiple family members who were affected at an early age, consider an even earlier conversation as you may be at even higher risk for your age group.

Risk factors like age, family history, and race all play a role. The best next step is an open discussion with your doctor about what’s right for you. A few minutes talking with your provider could help protect your long-term health.
