A recent well designed study has unveiled a hypoxia-inducible HYDROGEL that promotes INTERVERTEBRAL DISC REGENERATION. This innovative therapy combines gelatin, agarose, and laccase to create a hydrogel that activates key regenerative pathways under hypoxic conditions (which are found in the nucleus pulposus of the disc).
