Yesterday was a HUGE day at Maria Parham Health!
We had the joy of surprising and celebrating our incredible Cancer Center Director, Kimberly Smith, in the most Kimberly way possible — with a full-blown Christmas party in September!
Why Christmas? Because around here, we lovingly call Kimberly the “Queen of Christmas” — her love for the season is contagious, and her joy, kindness, and compassion shine all year long. So when it came time to honor her, there was no better way!
Kimberly was recently named a recipient of The Mercy Award, the highest honor given by Lifepoint Health.
The Mercy Award recognizes one outstanding employee from each Lifepoint facility who demonstrates a selfless commitment to their patients, colleagues, and community — living out Lifepoint’s mission, vision, and values every single day. It is named in honor of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and CEO, and represents the heart of who we are as a healthcare organization.
Kimberly, your leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication inspire us all. We are beyond proud to have you as part of the Maria Parham family.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday's Lunch & Learn at Maria Parham Health!
We were honored to have Dr. Denis Narcisse present an informative and engaging session on Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). Guests enjoyed a complimentary lunch while learning valuable insights about this serious but often underdiagnosed condition.

What is PAD?
Peripheral Artery Disease is a circulatory condition where narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs, often causing leg pain while walking. If left untreated, PAD can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and even limb loss. Early detection and lifestyle changes can make a life-saving difference.

We're proud to support our community with events like this, combining education with wellness. Stay tuned for more Lunch & Learn opportunities!

It’s Scrub Tech Week at Maria Parham Health!
This week, we're celebrating the incredible Surgical Technologists — also known as Scrub Techs — who play a vital role in every operating room.
Scrub Techs are the unsung heroes of surgery.
They prepare the OR, ensure every instrument is sterilized and ready, assist surgeons during procedures, and help maintain a safe, sterile environment for patients. Their attention to detail, quick thinking, and steady hands are essential to every successful surgery.
Their work may often be behind the scenes, but their impact is front and center.
They help save lives every day by making sure surgeries run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
To all the Scrub Techs at Maria Parham Health — we see you, we thank you, and we deeply appreciate everything you do.
Happy Scrub Tech Week! Your dedication makes a difference, and we’re proud to celebrate you.
