This week at MPH, we proudly continued the time-honored tradition of the “Blessing of the Hands” in honor of Nurses Week.
A nurse’s hands do so much more than provide care — they comfort, heal, support, and bring hope during life’s most difficult moments. The Blessing of the Hands is a meaningful reminder of the compassion, strength, and dedication our Healthcare Heroes bring to every patient interaction, every single day.
To all of our nurses: thank you for the countless ways your hands and hearts make a difference. Your kindness, skill, and unwavering commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for all that you do. To Pastor Frank Sossamon, thank you for leading this event, and for all the ways you help us at Maria Parham Health.
Happy Nurses Week to our incredible nursing team!

Thank you, Dr. Shah, for taking time to be with us and for your encouraging words and heartfelt prayer. Today was a meaningful reminder of the strength found in community, compassion, and faith.

Yesterday, we continued our Nurses Week celebration by treating our MPH healthcare heroes to a breakfast feast!

Our incredible Nursing Team enjoyed a morning buffet filled with made-to-order favorites, fresh fruit, danishes, and just about every breakfast item you could imagine—plus a few special gifts, too! While no celebration could ever fully express our gratitude, we hope this served as a small reminder of just how valued and appreciated our nurses truly are.
Every day, our nurses go above and beyond for our patients, their families, and one another. They are compassionate caregivers, skilled professionals, advocates, encouragers, and the steady hands that guide patients through some of life’s most difficult moments. Their dedication, resilience, and selflessness make a lasting impact not only within our hospital walls, but throughout our entire community.
To our nurses: thank you for your long hours, your caring hearts, your unwavering commitment, and the countless ways you make a difference every single day. Maria Parham Health is stronger because of you, and we are endlessly grateful to call you part of our team.
Happy Nurses Week to the very best!

It’s Nurses Week at Maria Parham Health!
We kicked off the celebration yesterday with a special treat—a mobile ice cream cart delivering smiles (and sweet surprises!) to both our day and night shift nurses. It’s a small way to say thank you to the incredible individuals who give so much of themselves every single day.
Nurses Week is a time to recognize the compassion, skill, and dedication that nurses bring to their work. Our nurses are there in life’s most critical moments—offering comfort, advocacy, and expert care when it matters most.
To our tireless healthcare heroes: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are endlessly grateful for all that you do.
Happy Nurses Week!
