✿ spray tan prep ✿
i think i am asked daily what products i recommend + what the best way to prep is. i made a graphic to show you products i would recommend + what outfit to wear.
•the best time to start prepping is 24 hours prior - realistically some of us cannot always do that. as long as you prep morning of your appointment day OR 4 hour prior you are golden (pun intended? lol)
•shower/exfoliate/shave/exfoliate/shower. in that order. shower with your body wash of choice - i love the native brand + method. they have a light scent, great for sensitive skin + a spray tan. exfoliate with a body scrub - nothing with any oils involved. i prefer to use a scrub glove w/ my body wash. shave - i love the billie razors. i have a subscription service with them and the razors come straight to my door. body wash again - suds it up 🤣 literally. make sure to get all exfoliation product off + shaving cream residue + that moisture band residue from the razor.
•once that prep is over i do like to put a little moisturizer on my face - whatever face cream you’re using. some will say not to - i like to that way there’s no dry spots on my face where the tan will stick to.
•no deodorant - no body oils/lotion - no perfumes - keep your body clear of everything. any product you apply will cause a barrier and make your spray tan look funky.
•outfit wise - loose is best. no bra. you can wear one in if that makes you more comfortable. i personally love to just wear a pj set {it gives me an excuse to go home and take nap or binge reality tv}
•post tan - leave your fresh spray tan on for the time i tell you. all my solutions are rapid - the longer you leave it on the darker you will be. DO NOT go past the time i tell you to rinse off. hop in the shower when it’s time (no soap) and rinse off good - use the hand massage method i show you to gently help the bronzer rinse away. air dry or pat yourself dry - use your moisturizer - NO OIL & enjoy your glow. your tan will continue to
develop after being washed off and you’ll have your fully developed color the next morning 🧚♀️
