At Healing Reins, our mission is “to assist individuals with special needs in meeting their full potential through interaction with horses”. Through equine-assisted services, we help enhance participants physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially. These services build balance & coordination, flexibility, core muscle strength, sequencing, speech and communication, self-esteem and self-confidence. Your tax-deductible donation will fund the tools needed to provide a safe and effective environment for our services. This Includes equine care, facility fees, adaptive equipment, certified instructors and other costs associated with this program. The beauty of the herd! 🐴

Beyond the gallops and the jumps lies a deeply social world. Horses communicate through subtle cues, develop lifelong bonds, and—most importantly—they love to play. Seeing them goof off together is a reminder that every horse is a unique individual with a sense of humor and a need for connection.

Sweetie has been keeping busy this spring! While she might not need a stall or hay, she is an essential part of our team. As an Equicizer, Sweetie offers a fantastic alternative for our participants to learn new skills, practice balance, and gain confidence in a controlled environment.

We feel like the luckiest crew in Kentucky to work with such incredible horses and resilient individuals every day. Whether it’s finding a "four-leaf clover" in the pasture 😉 or hitting a new milestone in the arena, there’s magic happening here all the time.

Wow, friends! 😍

Our 2025 results are in, and we are so grateful for this incredible community! Last year, we provided 710 life-changing lessons and reached 1,000 children through farm and mobile visits. This growth was fueled by a community that truly cares.

As Marlie’s mom, Carolyn, shared: “Everyone at Healing Reins is so supportive... but they also have expectations for Marlie. She loves it!”
