Had the honor and privilege to catch this sweet boy that was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Please help his parents get him a diabetic alert service dog 💗🙏
***Sweet baby Michael was diagnosed with Type one diabetes at 16 months! With Michael being so young, it is hard for him to tell mom and dad how he is feeling or when he is feeling low or high blood sugars. Michael has a continuous glucose monitor as well, but we are finding that it is often inaccurate and technology fails sometimes.
A Diabetic Alert service dog would be extremely beneficial for Michael as they can often sense high or low blood sugars even before a continuous glucose monitor can and they are trained to alert before danger is imminent. Having another source of monitoring for Michael would be extremely beneficial and would also be a great companion for him as he goes through the long Diabetic journey he has ahead of him!
The training for diabetic alert service dogs are very extensive and long which comes at a large cost. Thankfully, we have found a program local to us which eliminates some cost but they are still very expensive. We are hoping to raise the money to cover the fees and bring Michael's new companion/best friend home to us!***
