Here in Vegas, we mourn the senseless lives lost 7 years ago today, from a bump stock altered assault rifle.
It’s the eve before the birthday of the world, Rosh Hashanah. Our sweet, joyous, hopeful celebrations for a prosperous and healthy new year are like the broken glass after a wedding. I pray for Israel, for its soldiers, for peace, security, for the over 100 hostages STILL being held, and for each other. It takes two sides to make peace. I pray there can be some positive momentum after the 1st of Tishri, 5785.
I pray for the people of Ukraine, who are defending their homeland from the savage brutality being wrought by Putin, his corrupt oligarchs, and his propaganda war machine. In case President Zelenskyy doesn’t get the chance to say Shehecheyanu, I wil say it for him and his family. And for all the IDF men and women watching their posts. I’ll say Shehecheyanu again. And again. And dip apples in honey over and over too.
L’Shana Tovah! Let’s all try to be better.
