Summer is here, and temps have been soaring. If you aren't used to being physically active in high temperatures, make sure to take some safety precautions and listen to your body when working or exercising outside. Pay attention to yourself and those around you. Watch for warning signs: headaches, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, rapid breathing, pale skin.

Before the current heatwave kicked in, Dr. Cozart and his wife celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary with an evening walk along the lake and a delicious dinner at Lyncoya Café. Our town is such a great place to live, work, and EAT!

Are you juggling so many responsibilities that your to-do list is growing faster than you can get things marked off? We live in such a busy world that sometimes we forget the importance of taking time to let our bodies and minds rest. We push off our self-care to a “later” that never comes.

Take the time today. Even if it is only 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes.

Put your phone down. Get outside if at all possible. Get moving.

Over the past few days the local news has been following the search for a zebra on the loose in middle TN. We haven't seen him here at Thrive, but the situation did bring up a memory of another zebra years ago that popped in asking for an appointment with the doctor.

Kermit says to hold onto your dreams no matter how impossible.

Several years ago, Dr. Cozart had a dream of being a doctor, of helping people, of partnering with his patients to help them get healthier, of making a difference in the lives of his patients. He was frustrated and stuck in a system that wouldn't let him give his patients the care he thought they deserved. He kept dreaming big dreams, researching alternatives, and was able to open Thrive Direct Primary Care in 2023.
Now, he is seeing his dream come true. He is building relationships with his patients. He is doing his best to make a difference and improve healthcare.
