New Year’s Eve Pet Safety Tips

As we all get ready to welcome the new year, let’s ensure our furry friends stay safe and stress-free. Here’s how you can help your pets during the celebrations:

🏠Keep Pets Indoors:
Fireworks can be loud and scary for animals, causing them to run away. Keep your pets inside, and if possible, in a room away from the noise with plenty of hiding spots.

🛏️Create a Safe Space:
Set up a quiet area or crate where your pet can retreat if they feel anxious.

🏃‍♀️Exercise Them:
Give your dog a long walk or play with your cat indoors earlier in the day. A tired pet is a calm pet!

🎶Use Calming Distractions:
Turn on the TV or soothing music, close the curtains, and provide toys to help reduce noise and flashes.

🏷️Microchip and ID Tags:
Ensure your pet’s ID tags and microchip information are up to date in case they slip out and get lost.

🍾Secure food, drinks, & decorations:
Alcohol , chocolate, and other party snacks can be toxic to pets.
Be cautious with decorations—ribbons, balloons, and confetti can be choking hazards.

Let’s ring in the new year with happy, safe pets!

🐾 Happy New Years to all!🐾

For this Christmas Season, here are some safety tips to keep your Christmas merry and bright.

*Decorations 🎀-Tinsel, ornaments, and string lights are very tempting to your furry friends but are very dangerous if chewed or swallowed.

*Treats🍪- Many holiday treats including chocolate, grapes, raisins, anything sweetened with Xylitol are toxic to your pet. Pick a pet safe treat for this Christmas.

*Christmas Tree🎄- Anchor your tree to prevent tipping and avoid hanging breakable ornaments on low hanging branches. Your curious felines might see this as a perfect opportunity to test out their gymnastic skills.

*Wrapping Paper 🎁- Ribbons, bows, and tape are choking hazards and can cause an internal blockage if swollowed. Make sure to throw away all packaging material promptly.

*Candles 🕯️- Keep lit candles out of reach of curious noses and wagging tails to prevent burns or accidental fires.

*Plants 🪴- Poinsettias, Holly, Mistletoe, and Lilies are EXTREMELY TOXIC if ingested. Keep out of pet's reach or opt for pet safe greenery.

*A safe & quiet place for your pet 🛏️- Holiday gatherings can overwhelm many pets. Make sure to have a cozy quiet spot where your pet can retreat and relax from the noise.

Spread the joy, not the worry! Share these tips to keep all of our furry friends safe this holiday season!

❄️Cold Weather Pet Safety Tips❄️

As temperatures dip, it's critical to keep your pets safe and warm! Here are some ways to keep your pet pals safe & toasty.

🌲Limit outdoor time: Pets, like humans, can experience frostbite and hypothermia! Keep outdoor time limited and always have a warm spot to rest indoors.

Provide Proper Shelter: If your pet must remain outside, make sure they have a warm, insulated shelter up off the ground with dry bedding. Remember, no pet should be left outside for long periods in freezing temperatures. 🥶

🧥Bundle Up: A coat or sweater can help short-haired pets stay warm during walks.

🚫Avoid antifreeze: Antifreeze is extremely hazardous to pets, and its sweet taste attracts them. Clean up any spills right away, and keep all chemicals out of reach.

🐾Watch for Salt: De-icing chemicals might irritate the paws. Rinse or wipe your pet's paws after walks to prevent discomfort or ingestion.

🏠Stay active indoors: Keep your pets entertained with toys and games indoors to help them burn off energy on cold days!

🚘Check Under The Hood: Outdoor cats occasionally seek warmth in car engines. Tap your hood before starting your car to avoid an accident!

Ensure your pets are safe and comfortable as the winter season approaches us! If you have any worries about your pet, please call us right away.

Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy fun, food, and family but let's also keep our animal companions safe! With so many delicious foods available, it is critical to understand which ones are safe for your furry friends and which ones are not. We have a brief guide to ensure a pet-safe yet enjoyable holiday and will include some pointers to help your pet remain relaxed and at ease. 🦃🩷

Pet Friendly foods😋:
In moderation plain turkey (without seasoning), sweet potatoes, unseasoned green beans, and plain pumpkin (not pie filling) are all safe.

Foods to Avoid🚫:
Anything containing the following:
Butter,Sugar,Spices, turkey bones🍗, garlic, onions, grapes, chocolate

Stress-free enviroment🏠:
Remember to create a comfortable, quiet area for your pet, as they can feel overwhelmed by all the visitors. A favorite toy, pet-friendly treats, and a comfortable bed can help them stay content and at ease.

Leftovers:
Make sure to also dispose of your food waste cautiously as your furry friend may feel curious about the thanksgiving leftovers/scraps.

Lets make this Thanksgiving safe and joyful for everyone, two or four-legged alike!🐕‍🦺🐈
