Teen asking for therapy?? Skeptical! Take 4 minutes to and watch… or read… 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

After 20+ years in mental health, I’ve had the full-circle privilege of seeing what early counseling can do for teens.

If you’re a parent wondering if it’s worth it—because maybe you never got that kind of support yourself—I’m here to say: it is.

Teens in therapy may not “move mountains” in your living room, but they’re finding their voice, building tools, and realizing their emotions are normal, not something to bury. They’re learning how to speak up, advocate, and process hard stuff while still under your roof—where you can walk alongside them.

And later? Many of them end up helping others. Some even become therapists. I know—because they’ve come back to tell me.

If you’re worried about your teen? You’re a good parent.
If you’re considering counseling for them? You’re a great parent.

🙄And if you think this post is annoying and kids these days just need to “toughen up?” 💪🏼
Thanks in advance for the future business. We’ll be here when your family needs us.
Deuces. ✌🏼

🙃ADHDers prepping for therapy be like: chaotic? Yes. Brilliant? 💡Also yes.

If you’ve ever scheduled therapy, forgot therapy, remembered therapy, and then showed up with a crayon and a granola bar… you are NOT alone.

This kind of “prep” is actually part of the genius. ADHD isn’t a flaw—it’s a different operating system. And when you learn how to work with it (not against it), it becomes a superpower.

Our counselors get it. Like, really get it.
🌈Let us help you harness the magic. 🌈

Let’s talk about one of the sneakiest passion-killers in long-term relationships:
TOO. MUCH. TRANSPARENCY. 🔥💦

Yes, you read that right. Total openness can lead to total boredom in the bedroom.
When there’s nothing left to hide… there’s nothing left to seek. 👀

And according to the queen Esther Perel herself, mystery is a major ingredient in desire.

We think we’re being intimate when we share everything — but what we may be doing is stripping away the curiosity, the tension, the spark.
Desire needs distance. Mystery. The unknown.

You don’t have to keep secrets to keep it sexy.
You just need to stop treating your partner like a Google Doc where every thought is track-changed and highlighted.
Want to bring the fire back? Leave something to the imagination.
Flirt. Fantasize. Be unpredictable.
Turn toward play, not just process.

Because passion doesn’t live in the spreadsheets of your shared calendar — it lives in the space between what you know and what you want to discover.

“When there is nothing left to hide, there is nothing left to seek.” — Esther Perel

Go ahead. Be a little mysterious 😏 today.
Your marriage will thank you. 💋💋

Mystery > Micromanagement. Every. Time.
Wink wink.

🏁The GRAND FINALE🏁
of our ADHD Tip Series is here!!
(aka Part 3 of 3… we made it, folks.)

💊Whether you’ve been diagnosed ADHD or just a brain that’s juggling EVERYTHING🤹🏻‍♀️ lately—these are some of the best tips we could pull together to try and help! Here’s a few more to finish out the series! Hope you found a nugget 🌟

9️⃣ Brain dump it.
Your brain’s not broken—it’s overloaded.
Scribble out every random thought, task, and to-do.
Brain dumping = brain breathing room.

1️⃣0️⃣ Always late?
Stop focusing on when you need to be there.
Start focusing on when you need to LEAVE.
Simple shift. Big difference.

1️⃣1️⃣ Sleep. Move. Sunlight.
Not “extra.” Not “nice.” Your brain needs them.
Treat the basics like the foundation they are.

1️⃣2️⃣ Grace, grace, grace.
You don’t need to do all the things.
Try 2 or 3 tips. Let the rest go. You’re doing great.

Go back and check out all 12 tips in our 3-part series—they’re short, real, and super doable.

Drop your favorite tip number in the comments so we know what’s working for you!

ADHD TIPS PART DUEX (2)

(Note to self- I made this series around 4am one morning instead of going back to sleep! )

ADHD Tips: Part 2
Because focus is hard. And your brain deserves a fighting chance.

Let’s keep it real: sometimes it’s not full-blown ADHD—it’s clutter, constant pings, and a brain running 12 tabs at once. These tips help with that too:

5️⃣: Clutter = chaos.
Your brain mirrors your space. Clear the desk, clear the mind.

6️⃣: The 2-Minute Rule.
If it takes less than 2 mins, DO IT NOW.
If it’s a beast of a task? Just do the first 2 mins. You’ll trick yourself into starting (sneaky, we know).

7️⃣: Use a distraction sticky note.
Random thought while working? Write it down. Don’t follow the bunny trail. You can chase it after the task is done.

8️⃣: Mind your dopamine!
That little hit of scroll-happy is powerful.
Use it on purpose—as a reward, not a reflex. 5 mins of scroll, then back to it.

None of this is about perfection.
It’s about momentum, clarity, and giving your brain fewer battles to fight.

Which tip are you trying this week?

“I totally have ADHD”
—everyone on the internet lately.

But let’s be real:
Your brain’s not broken, it’s just FRIED from notifications + nonstop dopamine hits. (Put your phone down more!)

Here are 4 quick ADHD-ish tips that help everyone focus:

1️⃣ Start at step ONE.
Not step “fix your whole life.”
One thing. Then the next. That’s it.

2️⃣ No-lyrics music = secret weapon
Lo-fi, classical, ambient…
If it doesn’t sing, it lets you think.

3️⃣ Change the scene.
Coffee shop. Library. Coworking space.
Less laundry yelling at you = more focus.

4️⃣ Time box it.
15–30 min sprints.
Set a timer ⏱️
Do the thing. Break. Repeat.

Focus is possible.
Just don’t ask your phone for help.

HOW’S EVERYONE MAKING IT OUT THERE??
Electricity popped for some?
Trees beat to heck for others?

But seriously Y’all!!
ENOUGH ALREADY!! ☔️🌧️⛈️🌦️🌪️🌪️

Our fave always says it best!

One of my favorite things about our buildings 🏠 being over 100 years old is the older generations who build them were SMART. They placed them on highest points on the property to prevent flooding. Sump pumps working like a dog but keeping us dry.

We love you all.
We’re here for you.

And FOR THE LOVE,
🌮 Go eat some Tacos! 🌮
And always remember… tacos fall apart all the time, and we love them anyways. ✌🏼

All my middle TN Therapists….I see you.
You hold that space.
You drink that coffee.
You do that thing.
And use the obvi last min cancellation gaps as time for a nap.

🚬🚬🚭🚭💨💨
LOL
We got this!

Alright y’all… let’s talk about this mess….

Peacekeeping isn’t always peace.
Sometimes, your silence, shrinking, or avoidance isn’t helping—it’s harming. It keeps the dysfunction alive. It protects the problem, not the relationship.

You’re not avoiding conflict—you’re absorbing it.

When you start managing your own reactions first and choose to slow down, ask clarifying questions, or reflect how a comment made you feel, something powerful shifts.

You remove the dopamine hit the other person may get from seeing you passive, confused, or scrambling to please.
You interrupt the cycle.
You hold space for their behavior to exist—but without giving it power.

And in doing so, you advocate for yourself without even raising your voice. You let the unhealth surface without it taking over the moment.

Then—thank them for the clarity… and walk away.

Not everything needs to be fixed in the moment.
But it all deserves to be seen for what it is.

It may not solve its. But it’s a start to CHANGE. And you can only change YOU.

Conflict isn’t a sign of a failing relationship—it’s simply part of being human. The difference between thriving relationships and struggling ones comes down to HOW we navigate disagreements.

The next time tension rises with your partner, remember:

1. Speak with kindness using “I feel” statements
2. Turn toward the conflict instead of avoiding it
3. Repair quickly with a sincere apology
4. Look beneath the surface for the deeper emotions

Healthy relationships aren’t about avoiding fights—they’re about learning to fight fair, listen deeply, and grow stronger through difficult conversations.

Want to build better conflict resolution skills with your partner? We’re here to help! Drop a ❤️ if this resonated with you.

Just like these birds on a wire, many of us spend time contemplating change. We decide we want something different—better relationships, improved mental health, a more fulfilling career—but then remain perched right where we started.

The truth is, transformation requires more than just making a decision. It demands developing a concrete plan and taking consistent action steps, even when they feel uncomfortable.

What’s one small action step you can take today toward a change you’ve been thinking about? Share in the comments! 👇
