For folks who don’t know who we are, Full Circle is a small mental health center in Henderson county, NC, just off I26 and Hwy 64 — 30 mins south of Asheville, approx 15-20 miles west of Bat Cave/Chimney Rock area, 25 miles east of Brevard, NC, and just north of Flat Rock and Saluda, NC . For nearly a decade we’ve been running a Low Cost Counseling program for our community (average cost $15 a session), as well as each of our 17 therapists offering 10%+ pro bono work, plus countless free groups and classes. But given the current state of our community post Hurricane Helene we’re prepping ourselves for a much greater need. We’re hoping to be able to do more free counseling, groups and outreach in the community in the coming months (likely years). Would folks please consider sharing our fundraiser with your communities? Especially those outside WNC?

We’ve done well over 8000 hours of free or nearly free work already for folks in Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Buncombe and other surrounding counties and we’d aim to do more.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

It’s also day 14. Fourteen days since we woke up in a new reality. Fourteen days of recalibrating for our community. Fourteen days of helping one another and holding space for the confusing amalgam of emotions we’re collectively cycling through- grief, sadness, confusion, anger, but also love, joy, hopefulness, relief.

A lot could be said about the last 2 weeks, because it’s big. This disaster is big and it will have a big, lasting impact on our communities.
