Help me name these two skeletons. It could be a female’s or a male’s name. It’s not a Halloween decoration. I actually use them in my classes to show students what part of the body we may be working on. we have had lucky Luke, Betty Bones, Lucious, Stanley, and Abe. Yhey have all retired now. So join in the fun and throw out some names.

Yoga for Neuroscience each Tuesday at 12 noon.
What is Yoga for Neuroscience?
Yoga does more than stretch your body-it also influences our nervous system. We have two main parts of this system:
* The sympathetic nervous system, which prepares us for "fight or flight".
*The parasympathetic nervous system, which supports "rest and digest"
Fast, hot or intense movements can activate the sympathetic system, but slower, gentler yoga encourages the parasympathetic system. When this system is engaged it "shakes hands" with the brain, helping create a calmer, more balanced state of mind. See less

A Gentle Stretch Wellness - Fitness for 60+
coming this week: Each Tuesday 10:30 AM - Balance & Strength. We will be focusing on foot patterns. Foot patterns play a vital role in balance by determining how your feet distribute weight and provide stability. Proper alignment helps maintain even pressure across the three balance points of the foot, supports good posture, and enhances overall balance. When foot patterns are misaligned, it can disrupt body mechanics, reduce stability, and increase risk of falls. Strengthening the muscles in your feet can greatly improve balance, stability, and movement efficiency.

Slow mindful yoga is a powerful form of self-care, distinct from fitness-focused yoga. It supports those managing fatigue, depression, anxiety, chronic pain and more. These classes weave in self-care principles to help reduce stress and promote healing. While not a diagnosis, this type of yoga empowers participants to take charge of their health applying what they learn to improve their well-being and quality of life.

January - March 2025, all programs offered here, focus on Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. Fitness programs are great. However, knowing many of the Super Agers served here at the First United Methodist Church have different limitations, safety is priority. The training I have received from quality trainers have given me an edge on safety.
