Monica Souther has served on the Shuler~Forest Lawn Funeral home staff since August of 2024. Starting as a part-time receptionist, she discovered a deeper calling to serve families during some of their most difficult moments and is now taking the steps to become a licensed funeral director. Monica is compassionate, dedicated, and finds purpose in helping others navigate times of loss with care and understanding. Monica is a native of Henderson county and has resided in Mills River for many years.

Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayer and fasting that marks the first day of Lent. For the next seven weeks, observant Christians will pray, fast and give alms in anticipation of the arrival of Easter.
