The residents at Red Cedar Glen love live music programs! And when it is provided by one of our own residents, even better! Ian List lives at Red Cedar Glen and inspires all of us by living life to the fullest! Ian performs bluegrass and country music with Kevin Dobson around the area and we were blessed to have them entertain us this week! Great show Ian and Kevin!

Yesterday, Red Cedar Glen wished a big, beautiful, happy birthday to Shana Torian! Shana has been our beautician at RCG for over 16 years! Her bright smile, infectious spirit, and positive outlook makes everyone feel special! Shana says she looks forward to coming to RCG every Thursday and Friday to see her clients! Today, Red Cedar Glen celebrated our veterans on this Veterans Day! They were served a steak meal with all the fixings! Dessert was a beautiful cake designed to honor them! The Activities Center was decorated for this special occasion and Patriot Angels came with certificates acknowledging the veterans’ services to our country! Veterans Day is a day we take very seriously here at our community, grateful for the freedoms we have because of their sacrifices, many paying the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to the veterans everywhere!

Thank you to Zoe, our PT with Health Pro Heritage, for making such an incredible pumpkin for the Oasis Senior Advisors pumpkin decorating contest! Her pumpkin placed third! And for those that do not know, Health Pro Heritage is the outpatient therapy agency at Red Cedar Glen! They are an integral part of Red Cedar Glen’s resident care and are located within our community! For more information, call 615-822-7520!

And the winners of the custome contest today at Red Cedar Glen’s Halloween party were: 3rd place and scariest was Gary Grove; second place went to Margaret Rosenberg, the witch; and first place went to Gail Dixon, the hippy! For staff, third place went to Jessica Walters, the cow; second place was Emma Essler, a pumpkin; and first place went to Robin Essler, the laundry fairy!

Every fall Red Cedar Glen has the privilege to say thank you to the Hendersonville High School Commodo football team for all the support they provide our residents throughout the year! These young men take part in activities with our residents and our residents love them! The thank you comes in providing a huge spaghetti dinner the night before a game. Last night’s dinner was served at Indian Lake Peninsula Church by Michele Hale-activities, Julie Ruffner -marketing, Youlanda Robinson-care coordinator, Brian Jackson-dietary, and Kim Gauthier- OT. It is always so much fun to see the guys come back multiple times for refills! Go Commandos!!
