Lymphedema is a chronic condition that occurs when the lymphatic system is damaged or blocked, leading to fluid buildup and swelling, usually in the arms or legs. It can be caused by injury, surgery, cancer treatments, or genetic factors. While there is no cure, management strategies like compression therapy, exercise, and specialized massage (manual lymphatic drainage) can help reduce swelling and improve quality of life.
If you’re struggling, please don’t give up. Advocate for yourself, keep pushing, and find the right support. You are not alone!

✨ It’s Black History Month! ✨ Let’s honor Dr. Sarah Marinda Loguen Fraser (1850–1933)—a trailblazing physician, healer, and advocate for holistic health in Black communities.

Born to abolitionists in New York, Dr. Loguen Fraser became one of the first Black female doctors in the U.S. and the first woman to graduate from the Syracuse University College of Medicine. She dedicated her life to women’s health, midwifery, and hands-on healing techniques, including massage and manual therapy, ensuring that Black women and children received compassionate, quality care.

Her work emphasized the power of touch, rehabilitation, and holistic healing, laying the groundwork for future Black medical professionals and wellness practitioners.

Her legacy is a testament to resilience, healing, and community care—values that continue to inspire Black health and wellness today. 🖤
