At this time we still only have 13 families participating. I think we can do better. If your Kroger rewards aren’t already spoken for please sign up to donate them to the Food Pantry. Here’s how to do it:

Link your Kroger rewards card to the food pantry.

To participate in Kroger community rewards program visit http://www.kroger.com. Once logged into your Kroger account search for Welborne Community Food Pantry either by name or QW07 and then click enroll. New users will need to create an account which requires some basic information, a valid email address and a rewards card.

Spaghetti sauce (no glass, please)

Tonight the Food Pantry served 65 families representing 272 individuals. Many thanks to our fabulous volunteers who came out tonight to enjoy a distribution where it stayed light the entire time!

Tonight the Food Pantry served 51 families representing 203 individuals. Thank you to our friends from All Saints RVA for coming out in the yucky weather and making distribution go seamlessly. We are all very thankful that this was the last Monday night in standard time until fall. 😁

Current needs:
Saltines
Mashed potatoes
Spaghetti sauce, no glass, please
Evaporated/boxed/shelf stable milk

Reminder to our guests - there are five Mondays in March so please plan your two allowable monthly visits accordingly. We will be closed Monday, April 6 for Easter Monday.

Thank you to everyone that dropped off food today. We have such a great community supporting this Food Pantry.

I’m going to start with something I almost never do, and that is things we DO NOT NEED at this time:

Short Bags (for example Kroger, Whole Foods)
Pet food
Canned Goods

Current NEEDS:

1lb bags of rice
Shelf stable/evaporated milk
Saltines
We do, however, ALWAYS need TALL grocery bags, for example Trader Joe’s, Lidl, Food Lion

Did you know that it is National Girl Scout cookie weekend? Here at the Food Pantry we love cookies and we love Girl Scouts! 💚 If you are out and about this weekend and come across a Girl Scout cookie booth, but don’t want to eat any cookies, we’d love to have them as donations so we can do a fun Girl Scout cookie booth night at the Food Pantry.

If you are a Girl Scout or a Girl Scout leader, feel free to post your booth information in the comments so our friends can find you. 🍪 💚 🍪

Feeding Friends in Tuckahoe

The Welborne Community Food Pantry wants to feed our neighbors not only with relationships but with good, healthy food! We recognize that there is food scarcity in our neighborhood among all races and classes, and for a variety of reasons. Sometimes families are confronted with job loss, or high medical bills. Other times, immigrant families have fled oppression in their home countries and need a new start. We are here to offer relationship and food.
