Hermann Area District Hospital is a 24 bed Critical Access Hospital located in the beautiful town of Hermann, Missouri at 509 W. 18th Street, just over the hill from Stone Hill Winery. We are honored to have been the first district hospital in the state of Missouri due to the efforts of a small group of people in the 1960s who felt the strong need to have a hospital in our rural community. Because of their efforts, we are here today and are fortunate to have saved and aided countless lives throughout the years. We are happy and honored to have served our community’s healthcare needs these past 50 years and look forward to another 50. We may be 50 years old, however our building has had a total renovation within the last decade, allowing us to offer a state-of-the-art building to our patients and families. We invite you to visit and are welcome to come by for a tour. Let us know ahead of time and we’ll be sure to have someone available to show you around. Hermann Hospital offers a variety of services for our patients, such as 24/7 Emergency Care, Surgery Services, Skilled Care, Rehab Therapy including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, and Sleep Studies. We have a full Clinical Laboratory onsite, as well as a Radiology/Imaging, including 3D Mammography, Respiratory Care, and more. There are several Outpatient Clinics available to our patients as well, located onsite at Hermann Hospital: Audiology, Cardiology, and Orthopedic. Our hospital has grown through the years, resulting in the ownership and operations of two health clinics, which are located in Hermann (Southwest Medical Associates) and Montgomery City (Associated Medical Arts). We have experienced and caring Providers who are available to address your needs. Also to note, Hermann Area District Hospital is the largest employer in the city of Hermann, offering over 200 positions and opportunities for those in our community, and surrounding communities. ✨ Employee Spotlight ✨

Recently, Lucas Taylor was recognized by his peers for his excellent example of compassion and dignity!

"While tending to a hospice patient, you took it upon yourself to find a pair of scissors and gently trim his mustache -- something that was clearly neglected during his hospital stay at another facility and his nursing home stay prior to his transfer to HADH. It had begun curling into his mouth and while he may not have realized, you did and you acted. This act may seem small to some but it deeply moved me. You treated this individual with dignity and attention. It demonstrated respect, and genuine care for the patient's dignity, knowing him in his most vulnerable moments of his life."

As a reminder, HADH and Clinics have joined The Daisy Foundation!
The Daisy Award is a special honor given to extraordinary nurses for the compassionate contributions they make every day going above and beyond expectations. To recieve the Daisy Award means you have made a difference in the life of a patient, family or colleague that they will never forget.

HADH will select two Daisy Award reciepients per year, HOWEVER, THEY MUST BE NOMINATED. To nominate a nurse, please visit our website, and select "Thank A Nurse." The direct link: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSfQ5EfXcYDblj.../viewform

✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨

Recently, a provider bragged on the whole Imaging team. We couldn't agree more with her words!
"I cannot say enough good things about Kris or her department. From when I first started until today, she and all of her crew have been there for me to help make sure I am ordering the right test, or doing the best test for my patient. She has never made me feel stupid and is always willing to help and teach.

The whole department will make time for a patient when needed, some staying a little late to get the test done. It is rare they ever say no! About a year ago I had a patient come in with concerns for bladder cancer. They did the CT the following day and in less than 24 hours of seeing the patient, we had a report and set the patient up with a specialist. The patient came to the clinic a few weeks later to thank me in person. I was sure to let him know this could not have been done without our imaging department.

Kris recently got 3D Mammography to our community. This is HUGE! I know she worked so hard and for so long to get this done so we have the most up to date standard of care for our community.

Today, I had a patient who needed an ultrasound. When I first spoke with Kris, she said they could do it Monday. I called and talked with the patients mom, who was anxious and concerned. I sent a quick message to Kris, if she would have a cancellation to call the mom as they will find a way to come in. Kris instead went the extra mile to rearrange a few things and is doing the ultrasound tomorrow. This put the mom and patient at ease.

I could go on and on about Kris and her staff!"

Happy Boss’s Day to our fearless leader, CEO, Bill Hellebusch!

Bill pours his heart and soul into both his staff and our community hospital every single day. He arrives each morning with a smile on his face, and a steadfast commitment to making Hermann Area District Hospital the “Best Critical Access Hospital in America.” He weighs a careful balance of clinical excellence and financial stewardship of our hospital and clinics, that is always guided by the best interests of our patients and community taxpayers.

This dedication was evident in March, when our staff packed our boardroom in overwhelming support of his appointment as our full-time CEO. A decision we would proudly make again today.

Bill, we all thank you for your selfless guidance and unwavering vision toward building Hermann Area District Hospital to what it is today, but more importantly, shaping the promise of what it will be tomorrow.
