Dr. Sydney Mathias has recently joined our practice as a new optometrist. She grew up in Portland, IN and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2024. She is interested in primary care and ocular disease. She has a passion for making patients feel heard and understood.

She and her fiancé Anton, a Tennessee native, moved to Mt Juliet earlier this year. They have settled in nicely with their cat Mikasa and new puppy Hange. They enjoy pickleball, golfing, and curling up to watch shows and movies.

Dr. Matthew Earhart was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada. He attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2007. He also received his Master’s of Education with an emphasis on visual function in learning from Pacific University College of Education. Dr. Earhart is glaucoma certified and has given multiple lectures on the subject. Furthermore, he has done community work in both Ecuador and Mexico.

Upon moving to Lebanon, Tennessee, Dr. Earhart adopted a black lab named Pepper. His hobbies include flying (has his private pilot certificate and is related to Amelia Earhart), off-roading, and hiking, but he also takes time to enjoy church, concerts and Tennessee sporting events (Titan Up!).
