Today is my 4 year anniversary of being licensed as a MFT. I’ve spent 1000s of hours providing therapy, done trainings, gone back to school. I’ve laughed, cried, been challenged beyond what I could imagine, grown, healed, learned from my mistakes. I’ve had the privilege of working w new clients and long term clients. I’ve grieved clients when our time ended. I wouldn’t change this career for the world. I feel incredibly grateful to have community with other therapists and to have amazing clients who have taught me so much about myself as a therapist and human. Brb crying. 🥹

I haaaaaaate the word “lazy.” The term ‘lazy’ is often misused, especially by individuals experiencing burnout, trauma, or chronic stress. In reality, rest is a necessary and biologically adaptive response to prolonged strain. Recovery from these conditions is physically and emotionally taxing—labeling oneself as ‘lazy’ only adds unnecessary shame to an already challenging process.
