Medicine is about service.

Today I had the privilege of volunteering with MidSouth Mission of Mercy — a charitable dental clinic that provides free dental care to uninsured and underserved patients in our region.

was founded to close a gap that many people don’t see — access to dental care. They bring together volunteer dentists, physicians, nurses, hygienists, and healthcare professionals to treat patients who may have been living in pain for months… sometimes years.

And pain doesn’t just affect your teeth.

It affects your confidence.
Your ability to eat.
Your ability to work.
Your dignity.

As a board-certified physician who works in the ER, I operate in high-stakes environments. I value precision. I value competence. I value outcomes.

But days like this remind me why I chose medicine in the first place.

Serving people who expect nothing in return.
Seeing relief replace suffering.
Watching someone smile without embarrassment.

That fills my cup.
