As a business owner in Herndon, I want to express my gratitude to Mayor Keven for his genuine commitment to hearing our voices regarding the proposed changes to the regulations for Licensed Massage Therapists in Fairfax County. It’s incredibly refreshing to see a leader who not only understands our perspective as business owners but also values the positive impact our profession has on the community.

💆‍♀️✨ Grateful for the recent opportunity to meet with the incredible Massage Therapists of Herndon and the Fairfax County Licensed Massage Therapist Business Owners.

As someone who personally values the role of licensed massage therapy in a whole-body wellness approach, I know firsthand how important this work is—not just for relaxation, but for real healing, recovery, and long-term health.

Our conversation was both energizing and inspiring. We talked about the challenges and opportunities in today’s business ecosystem, shared perspectives on potential state and county legislation, and most importantly, celebrated the powerful impact these professionals have on our community, as both healthcare providers and small business owners.

Thank you for your service, your skill, and your continued commitment to Herndon’s health, well-being, and economic vitality. 💙

🚨 **Fairfax County Massage Regulations: Your Voice Matters** 🚨

Fairfax County is proposing new massage regulations that could *unintentionally hurt small, licensed massage therapist-owned businesses* — including mine.

While we appreciate the County’s openness to dialogue and their willingness to meet with us, some of the proposed rules raise real concerns:
⚠️ Limiting where we can work
⚠️ Banning locked doors — a **safety issue** for solo practitioners
⚠️ Increasing fees by up to **400%** — more than nearly every other regulated business

We’re organizing, staying professional, and working hard to make sure the County hears directly from those most affected — **us.**

If you’re:
✔️ A licensed massage therapist or small business owner in Fairfax
✔️ A supportive landlord or local leader
✔️ A community member who cares about small businesses

📩 **DM me** to stay in the loop or get involved.

Together, we can shape regulations that protect public safety **without harming the people doing this healing work.** 💪💆‍♀️💼
