She is a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist through the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), the state of New Jersey and through the New Jersey Department of Education. Wendy is passionate about speech and language and has treated patients across the lifespan. For over a decade, she has worked with adolescents and young teenagers in a public middle school setting. In this capacity she has treated patients with autism, as well as language, speech articulation, and speech fluency disorders. She particularly enjoys teaching social skills and loves helping those who struggle in this area to develop their perspective taking and “social thinking” skills. She has attended numerous “Social Thinking” training sessions conducted by Michelle Garcia Winner. Wendy is constantly looking for ways for her clients to bring their social skills outside of the speech room and to support their parents/families. As such, she has served as the Project Manager for the Joey Travolta Short Film Camp (an inclusive film-making program), the advisor of an inclusive cooking club, and the facilitator and leader of P.E.A.S. (Parents of Emerging Adults), a program supporting parents and young adults in making the transition to life beyond age 21. In addition, she has works in Early Intervention, treating those from birth to age 3 with communication disorders. In this capacity, she has developed a love for working with families, and helping them to best assist their family member and to support their communication needs. Other areas in which she has worked have included a private school in Essex County treating those from ages 3-21 with autism and other moderate to severe communication disorders as well as an ABA-based public school autism program. Wendy has also worked as an adjunct professor for Kean University, Montclair State University, and William Paterson University. She has taken the PROMPT Level I and Talk Tools Introductory trainings. She is a NJ certified Teacher of English and holds a B.A.
