We are getting ready for our Car Show on September 6th. Are you a crafty person? Great! We need vendors. Are you a car, truck, bike, tractor or even RC car guy or gal? Great! Come join our show. Are you a beautiful lady from days gone by or wish you were? Great! Come join our Golden Girls Bombshells. Nope you don't have to be golden for this we have 4 categories from new(born) to vintage. We ended our Shark Week with a party!!! We special shark bite cupcakes complete with strawberry jam in the center and a shark fin on top. Our shark attack drink consisted of blue punch, Sprite, grenadine and in the ice cube was a gummy shark! The staff and residents all enjoyed our shark sightings this week.

Happy rainy day to everyone! If you have come to visit us this week we are so sorry for the inconvenience of our parking lot. But we invite you to come see us and our beautifully finished driveway and parking lot. These gentlemen have done a wonderful job! Look forward to seeing everyone soon!

This week we are celebrating Shark Week ! We started the week with baby shark adoptions. Some of the fun names picked were; Bruce, Blue, Bluey, Jaws, Fluffy, Rambo, Shorty and many more creative names. What would you have named your baby shark? Stay tuned for more shark sightings this week!

Yesterday we celebrated the lollipop! National Lollipop Day is not until July 20th but why wait! In 1908 George Smith made a large hard candy and placed it on a stick. He than named it after a racehorse of that time named Lolly Pop. Dum Dum sucker was first made in 1924 by the Akron Candy Company. Than in 1953 Spangler Candy purchased it. In its first year made over 84 million sucker's. Today 12 millon Dum Dums are made each day! You are never too old for a lollipop!

We have a great view of the fireworks from our front lawn so come join us tonight! We will get the fun started with a pre show starting at 7pm. Than we will have watermelon and cookies (until they run out) while waiting for the BIG show. All are welcome to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy a nice place to enjoy family and fireworks. We had some wonderful people donate to make this happen. So please stop in at Hiawatha County Club Fireworks off 14th and Oregon, Twisted Sister s of Horton, Pyro Party Fireworks in Hiawatha and Lakeside Fireworks in Horton and tell them thank you for helping make this show possible. We look forward to seeing you tonight!
