We hope the new year has started off good for you. Many insurances do not require a referral for physical therapy. You can always call and ask your insurance company if they require a referral to physical therapy. Remember to use good form scooping snow! Bend at your knees and less bending at the hips and back to save your back! Bad scooping mechanics = back pain!!

Baseball and softball seasons are in full force right now. A few good injury prevention tips are:

*Stretch before you play catch
*Keep pitch counts low (even if you really need to win)
*Go for a good jog the day after you pitch to help reduce elbow and shoulder pain
*Don't throw curveballs or sliders until you are more mature and learn the right way
*Learn a good rotator cuff strengthening program

We have Physicians from Lincoln and the Hickman area referring their patients to our clinic for shoulder pain and for rehabilitation following surgery. We also take private pay without a referral.
