Megan is one of our hygienists and saw Timothy for his first appointment with us a few months ago and with every visit, we take each patients blood pressure. Megan noticed that Timothy's heart rate was very low and suggested her contact his primary care. A few weeks later, Timothy showed up with a small gift and card for Megan, telling our whole office about how Megan saved his life! He said his primary care put him on a pacemaker and his life has completely turned around. He has more energy and had no idea how low his heart rate was getting at night. We are so grateful for Megan's thoroughness, but more importantly for Timothy's health!

Let this be your friendly reminder that most dental insurances run on a calendar year; which means if you haven't used your full annual amount on your plan, now's the time! Staff Hightlight:🪥Dr. Shaw edition!!

You know we had to save the best for last, Dr. Shaw is our dentist here at Valley Hills Dentistry. After graduating undergrad from UNC Charlotte, Dr. Shaw completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (graduating at the top of his class!) from East Carolina University. Dr. Shaw keeps our office up to date with the latest technology, while also keeping us in the know with new information in the dental world. In his free time, he likes to golf, go to the gym, and spend time traveling with his fiancé. Dr. Shaw's kindness far surpasses his wide knowledge of dentistry, and he always makes each of us feel very appreciated. We love him and the atmosphere he has provided us and our patients!

Staff Highlight!!🪥

Maddie is our Insurance and Social Media Coordinator. She is a multi tasker in the office and at home. She keeps us busy with weekly Tik Toks and photos. She is so much more than the girl behind the camera. She keeps us laughing and mothers us all. She is the office planner and keeps us having fun. When she is not here she enjoys her two sweet babies at home. She is a real Mountaineer being from Boone originally. She went to Lake Norman Dental Assisting School. She has been in dentistry since she was 19 years old. We are beyond blessed to work with her and have her as a friend.

Staff Highlight!!🪥

Shea is our incredible Office Manager at Valley Hills Dentistry! Shea's humor is unmatched and she is the kind of friend everyone would want to have. She attended North Carolina Dental Assisting Training School in 2005, where she graduated and worked as an assistant for 5 years. In 2010, she became an office manager and has now worked as one for about 15 years! We are so grateful for her extensive dental knowledge, but more than that we are thankful for how she cares for all of us.

Carla is our Front Desk Administrator, but more importantly, the smiling face at our front desk! Carla's cheerful spirit and humor keeps our office feeling happy and light. She is a foodie and loves to cook for her family! She has worked in dentistry for over 15 years, and when she is not at work she spends time at church as a worship leader.

Dayana is one of our Dental Assistants here at Valley Hills Dentistry, and really the kindest person you will meet. Her calming, sweet spirit makes all of our patients feel at ease and well taken care of. She graduated from Western Piedmont Community College in 2016 with her certificate in Dental Assisting, making her an assistant for almost 10 years! Dayana brings the highest level of compassion to each appointment and for that we are so grateful.

Sherry is one of our Dental Assistants here at Valley Hills Dentistry, and our resident "I can fix anything!" girl. Sherry graduated Dental Assisting school in 2002 and has been a dental assistant for over 20 years. If we ever have a question about anything chairside or tooth-related, Sherry is our girl! Truly a jill of all trades, we love her and all of her knowledge she brings to the table.

Jenna is one our assistants here at Valley Hills Dentistry. Jenna is full of high-energy and keeps our office moving at a fast pace. She graduated from Dental Assisting School from Western Piedmont and has been a dental assistant for almost 9 years! She loves getting to know her patients on a personal level, everyone leaves our office being Jenna's friend!

Megan is the other half of our amazing hygiene team here at Valley Hills Dentistry! She is a dedicated mother of 3 and a wonderful friend to all of us. In her free time Megan enjoys running and spending time with her pets. Megan graduated from UNC Chapel Hill Dental Assisting program; and then attended Catawba Valley Community College where she graduated as a registered Dental Hygienist. She has now been a hygienist for over 10 years, and we could not be more lucky to have her on our team!

Julia is one of our hygienist here at Valley Hills Dentistry! Her infectious smile and positive attitude keep our patients (and staff) feeling happy and comfortable! She is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and goes above and beyond for each patient. Julia graduated hygiene school from Catawba Valley Community College, and began working at our office almost 5 years ago.
