Today, we honor those who have served and laid down their lives for our country. We are extremely grateful for their sacrifice and for the freedoms we enjoy because of them.

We also pray that the Lord comforts families of veterans and service members who are mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Reminder that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Our theme this week is the importance of supporting someone living with a serious mental illness starts with understanding. Learning about mental health conditions can help us respond with empathy and confidence. God loves each of us and our love for others includes those facing mental health issues. We love our volunteers. On Saturday, we had a group from Mountain View Baptist Church to help work in the yard at the CCM Whole Life Center. Thank you for your hard work. There is so much power in prayer. Today is National Day of Prayer. CCM hosted a prayer walk through our city. Thanks to Dave Faherty for coming out and sharing CCMs heart of prayer for our Hickory community!

A dozen people in Catawba County celebrated the National Day of Prayer by walking through Hickory.

National Day of Prayer Celebrated by CCM:
Today, CCM conducted a special National Day of Prayer walk around our block to lift up our buildings, neighbors, and local nonprofits in prayer. The theme for our time together was based on Romans 12:10-13, encouraging us to love, serve, and remain steadfast in prayer. It was a special time for us to come together in unity to pray for our community! The walk began at 11:00 AM at our main building (GHCCM) and walked approximately one mile, stopping briefly outside several locations including the Whole Life Center, Hickory Soup Kitchen, Pregnancy Care Center, Safe Harbor, Rose TLC, and Downtown under the Sails.
