More donations from our amazing community members: a diaper bag full of baby necessities for our newest shelter resident, canned food, and cleaning supplies. Support from neighbors like you makes such a huge impact, even if you can’t always see the end results. We appreciate you!!

Thank you, Dana's Fine Jewelry and Premier Screen Printing! With your sponsorships, our clients are certain to have very happy holidays this year.
If you’d like to adopt a family from our Hope Tree or give back in another way, please send us a message or call 828-322-1400 extension 301.
🎁Thank you, Pat! Our Hope Tree sponsors are beginning to bring their gifts in for our clients and we couldn’t be more excited!
Pat has sponsored our clients’ wish lists for the holidays for the past two years. We appreciate her and all she does to lift the burden of holiday shopping from our families’ shoulders.
We have a baby on the way!
One of our shelter residents is expecting a baby any day now. While this is an exciting time for her, she is also concerned about having everything she needs to care for her little one.
If you or someone you know has a new or gently used infant carrier car seat, please consider making a donation to this client to take one thing off of her checklist. As always, any donation made is eligible to be written off on your taxes!

It's almost that time again! We are gearing up for our annual Hope Tree program to support our clients and their families during the holiday season. As we collect their wish lists, we are also searching for folks who would like to sponsor a family or two.
This would be a great service project for a family, small business, church group, or any other organization looking to give back to the community. Your contribution would mean so much to the individuals and families we serve. They have already lost so much. Will you help us bring some light back into their lives?

We hope you enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday while we are closed. We'll see you next week!
Thank you to City of Newton Police Department for the donation of clothes for our clients! Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault will often have to leave their clothing behind, either to be collected as evidence or in the rush to leave an unsafe living situation.
We appreciate the continued support from our community partners to do the work we do. Without you, our jobs would be next to impossible!
Thank you Conover Hardware for these and other toy donations to our shelter clients!! We appreciate you!
Our Life Skills class is getting in the spirit🍂 They are thankful for a lot of things and we are thankful for them! ❤️

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). This year, our theme is Every1 Knows Some1 because everyone does know someone affected by domestic violence in some capacity, even if they don’t realize it. We will be sharing information, resources, and events all month. Also, be sure to stop by our exhibit “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” at Valley Hills Mall located downstairs across from Kirkland’s. The exhibit features survivors stories and artwork as well as information and FGC’s services.
If you see something, say something! And if you can't say something, take a moment to document what is happening to help hold others accountable.
: When you witness harassment happening around you, documenting it is one of the many ways to assist the person in need. Here are a few tips about the art of documentation:
And we are here to help you along the way. You got this!
Hope to see you there. Our DV Advocate will be sharing her story and information/resources.
