The Hickory Soup Kitchen’s 32nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner is Friday January 30th! Ingredients have begun to arrive at our kitchen that our Incredible Board of Directors will use to make the over 250 gallons of sauce.
This is a time honored tradition you don’t want to miss. The event will be that Friday from 4:30 to 7:30 at HSK. Tickets are $10 and 100% of the proceeds go the feed the hungry in our area. Hope to see you there!!!

Due to an overwhelming amount of support and being consistently booked 2 months out, Cortney Robinson will no longer be accepting new clients starting in 2026.

I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and loyalty from my current clients—this wouldn’t be possible without you. 💙 My focus moving forward will be on continuing to provide the highest level of care and attention to those already on my schedule.

The Salvation Army will open for the first White Flag of the 2025-2026 season on Monday night for unsheltered individuals. This will provide a safe, warm and caring place during the nights temperatures are below 32 degrees.

Monday overnight temps in Hickory will be 27 degrees❄️❄️

Donation items urgently needed.

10 to 12 Army style cots (as shown in picture) We currently only have 12

15- 20 Pillows (small to twin size)

The Winter of 2024- 2025, we averaged 25-30 unsheltered for our White Flags nights.

Volunteers Needed!!
HSK’s free grocery store is in need of volunteers to bag food, stock shelves, and assist guests when making the choices that best fits their household’s needs. Our 100% choice grocery has seen a large increase in the number of families we are serving in the last few months and we need more volunteers to help us meet these increasing needs.
Volunteers work between the hours of 8:00am to around 12:00pm Monday through Friday. If you are interested in joining us please call 828-327-4828 to get on the schedule.

The Crisis Help Center has immediate need of volunteers that can help in our food pantry anytime between the hours of 9:00a.m. - 1:00p.m Monday to Friday. Volunteer duties include, stocking the pantry shelves, assisting the clients with food carts and being a bright smile and a helping hand to our neighbors facing crisis.

Our grocery shelves have been emptied over the last two weeks due to high demand. If you or someone you know is able to donate please pass along this list. Donations can be received between 7 AM and 1 PM Monday through Friday at the Hickory Soup Kitchen. This grocery supports over 550 families monthly with over 1000 people living in those households. Your help would make a huge impact in the lives of those we serve!

Due to low temperatures and some remaining ice in our parking lot, Muscle Maintenance will be opening at 10:30 tomorrow. If you had an appointment scheduled before this time, we should have already been in touch. We thank you so much for your understanding and hope you all enjoyed the beautiful, snowy weekend!
