Peppermint the Elf is back at Catawba Valley Foot & Ankle!

Our favorite Elf on the Shelf has returned for another season of holiday fun. Our practice started this tradition last year, and it was such a hit with both our staff and our patients that our practice decided to bring Peppermint back again.

Be on the lookout during your visit—you never know where Peppermint might show up. If you happen to spot him, feel free to let us know or share a photo. Our practice is excited to enjoy the holiday season with a little extra cheer from Peppermint.

Catawba Valley Family Medicine - South Hickory welcomes our new provider, Yee Yang, MD!

Dr. Yee Leng Yang is a dedicated family medicine physician who provides compassionate, comprehensive care for patients ages 5 and older. He earned his undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University and went on to receive his medical degree from the American University of Antigua. Dr. Yang completed his family medicine residency at Southern Regional AHEC in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Passionate about patient-centered care, Dr. Yang is committed to helping individuals and families achieve lasting wellness and an improved quality of life. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Our Catawba Valley Medical Group Practices have an upcoming closing on Thursday, 11/27/25 and Friday, 11/28/25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Please make sure that your regular medicines are refilled prior to this date for any medications that you may need during the Holiday closure.

Also, as a reminder, our Doctor on Call will be available but does not generally prescribe antibiotics and controlled substances will not be able to be filled.

Last Friday, November 14, Catawba Valley Foot & Ankle celebrated National Family Pajama Day in the coziest way! The team showed up in their favorite pajamas, enjoyed sweet treats, and warmed up with a festive Hot Chocolate Bar.

This annual holiday encourages everyone to relax, slow down, and spend time together — and for our practice, that means continuing to provide great patient care in comfort and style.

Earlier this week, Catawba Valley Family Medicine – Conover celebrated their one-year anniversary! Staff came together for steaks and sides and a warm reflection on all they have accomplished.

Tim Gilbert, Office Manager for the practice, said, "It was a great time to build a stronger bond within our team and remind ourselves of the challenges we overcame this past year and the success that we look forward to in the future."

CVFM-Conover will have building repairs beginning Monday (11/17) and are scheduled to be completed by end of day on Tuesday (11/18). As a result, the main parking lot beside the building (marked in red) will be closed these two days and set to re-open by start of day on Wednesday (11/19).

Patients will have access to public parking in front of the clinic on 1st Street as well as public parking in the rear on NW Alleyway. Any patients parking in the rear will be required to access the front entrance via NW Alleyway and 1st Ave N.

Any patients needing assistance or directions can call the clinic at 828-732-7450 and staff will be happy to assist as needed. We apologize for the inconvenience.
