I am always thankful for the hard work and dedication of lifters like Chandra. She began her strength journey last year with a 25 inch box squat (and it was very difficult for her). But here we see her squatting to a 17 inch box! This is truly amazing progress!

She decided she needed to get stronger and has stuck with it. It has not been easy, but she works hard in the gym and never misses a session. She also has an incredible family supporting her as she seeks to better herself. Clients like Chandra are the reason we do this!

According to Harvard Medical School, the average American will LOSE 4 to 6 pounds of muscle per decade after the age of 50. That is a significant amount of muscle that most people will never rebuild. And the majority of people will not see any decrease in their weight as they will replace the lost muscle with fat.

At Catawba Valley Personal Training we specialize in training folks over 50 in the basic barbell lifts (squats, bench press, etc.) which are the SAFEST, most effective way to rebuild and maintain muscle as we age.

Some very kind words from Anya over at Positively Thrive. So after you get done with a workout, you can head over to see her for some massage therapy. I can just about guarantee it will be more relaxing than lifting weights!

I spent an hour chatting with Aaron from Catawba Valley Personal Training recently. I wish I had had an Aaron to refer to down in FL! He specializes in legit strength training for 50+, and has not only the equipment but knowledge to help that specific demographic build strength, whether they have prior gym experience or only know benches as things in parks. His goal is to keep his clients able to perform every day tasks with ease. His pricing is also fantastic for what he's offering.
