The Suffolk County Police Department is aware of the incidents at a synagogue in Michigan and at Old Dominion University in Virginia and are continuing to conduct frequent checks at religious institutions and vulnerable entities.
Although there are currently no credible threats in our area, members of the SCPD are working with our law enforcement partners and monitoring the situation.
Residents are encouraged to call 911 to report suspicious activity.
